Playing the original Dark Souls was an unforgettable experience. Sad to see it delisted. Avoid the remake— lacks the soul of the original.
If you find a way to acquire the original files (up on internet archive) you can use "Dsfix" to get 60fps.

Why did not write a review for this when I played it a couple of years ago I wonder. It was such a weird but great experience. Released in 1998 but felt like a game disguised as an old game to me. At least that's how I remember it now. Play it if you are into absurd stuff. Wish I could easily find games like this one but steam is showing me Witcher 3, Cyberpunk 2077, DMC 5 and couple of adult hentai games on the "more like this" section and it pisses me off. It was working great before.

Try this game on weed. It's genius.

The Dark Eye series is a mature adventure game with a deep story. First of all you need to play the first one to completely experience this one. I'm gonna talk about both the first and the second game in this review.
I can't say i loved it since i expected more from the games. Especially the visuals but they are okay, i just hoped for better.
Some puzzles didn't felt right. There were non that make me feel like i actually achieved something. Instead they felt like i was doing the obvious, what i was supposed to do.
Even though it seems like i don't recommend the game, i actually do but be warned, there might be some parts in the game that are actually booring or looks extraordinarily complicated, so don't get encouraged.
In conclusion it's a good game with a good story and there are two endings in the game which is great for an adventure game.
There is one more thing i wanted to mention. In the end of the game there is paradox that concerns the main character, you will see when you get to the end of it. It's easy to miss so try to think! What happens when you lie about the truth?

Greatest adventure game of it's time. Puzzles are brilliant, visuals are sweet, story is cute. I recommend everyone who is into point&click adventure games to play it. In all those adventure games that i played, this one is my personal favorite.

Great game. I never felt this much goose bumps while playing a game in years. Of course it's not perfect and can be improvable in many ways but the playability is very high that you get used to it very quickly. Gameplay is very enjoyable and it keeps you busy all the time. I didn't even use fast travel until the very end of the game or for farming the achievements. I can write much more here but for the short version: I recommend it if you like fps games with horror elements. "This game definitely gives you a diferent experience.
(By the way, the game meant to be played black and white, not in colour mod. Just adjust the light intensity and brightness in the beginning of the game for your own taste in visual.)

When i first started to play Gothic, i realize that the features we see in todays RPGs are taken from this game. It's made in 2001 and for me it's still better than most of the RPGs made nowadays..

Don't stick to the old graphics and think you will be bored while playing. Belive me if you dont mind the polygonal graphics and actually play it, you will find out that this game is a piece of art. Graphics are old but well designed. The world programmed amazingly especially if you consider this game is made in 2001. Techniques that developers use for story telling are still using today. Side quests are detailed and fun to do. Most characters are have their own personality and behaviours.
Can't help but mentioning about the dialogues... They are hilarious !!

And of course, the story of this game (as you probably heard before) is like a very well written movie story.

Must play if you like oldschool RPGs.

Charming story, nice graphics.
