Very good title for anyone who likes roguelike genre. Grinding is not excessive. Has a good piracy vibe.

I do not often write reviews, but something pushed me to do so. I have played around 80 hours and I have to say, it's boring, boring and very simple. I played the Netherlands and USA. When I compare it with EU4 or Crusader Knights 3, it feels very basic. And many game mechanics are broken. Let me explain.

- The only way to progress is to get bigger and bigger. Otherwise, you will be turned into dust. Though, I have to admit AI is not very smart during wars.
- Economy - developing your provinces is easy when you have just a few of them. Later, it becomes nausating and virtually impossible. But in fact, you do not need to do much. Just build en masse.
- Politics - you do not really need to bother what to do. Just go with the flow and do whatever has the biggest support.
- Trade - I have never been able to fullfill demand for coal, iron, rubber or oil in my country. But that does not matter that much. It's so stupid that you have to do so many things manually with trading each good. Every few weeks you need to check if you have any available trade route that brings profit and then just accept it.
- Military - When you start conscripting for a big war, there is no way to undo this later in the war when you do not need so many soldiers. Plus, if a new war starts (even with a small opponent) you can't undo this either! Imagine USA with 1000k batallions fighting Togo with 1 batallion. My debt for each week is 4M and I can't lower it because I cannot send my soldiers home! I have to fight with 1000k batallions even if 5 would suffice! One of the most annoying issues.
- Diplomatics - scout for big allies but do not be surpised if they abandon you even though your goals are the same. Otherwise diplomatics does not matter that much either.

Game feels complicated at first sight but then you realise that it's very shallow. I played only the vanilla.

Boring. It is ok to play for a few hours but it really lacks sophistication brought to the genre by Battle Brothers. Basically a medieval XCOM game.

Looks very cool and I'd love to play with a bigger fanbase! Just buy it :)
