I took a look at the system requirements and figured my rig could handle it. Played the game for a bit and got to the lever room and could see where the commitment began. I will say no more. I'm already looking for a refund.

I'm pretty sure this is pretty typical for a pretty JRPG, but the story telling medium is in multiple formats and I personally cannot stand it. For example, you have a cut-scene fully voiced and fully animated, then a scene where characters are not moving but fully voiced, then you have to start reading because they stop talking. Then in the "big world", the characters become super tiny and every detail of the world is super simplified (I'm not too upset about this). Because of these reasons, I have not been able to play much of this game or the original. However, what I do like about this story is that magical flair it has much like the Studio Ghibli movies.

Very fun game with an interesting story and dlc. It is "open world", but more like big travel-able single sections per planet. The game does not have any sort of gravity "engine" built into it, so that means no grenades and no long hair. If you can get by that, you'll enjoy everything else.

This is a game I'm thankful I didn't pre-purchase like the many who did. Let me just say, it felt pretty polished, and the character movement was pretty solid. It is a neat game being vastly open world, but that's all I noticed playing it for less than 2 hours. The hardest thing for me was finding the reason to keep playing it. The first "quest" was to fix the ship by searching for materials. Fetch quest, but it's basically the tutorial, so that's fine (the text you have to read , it is not a voice over which was a killer for me). I got off the planet and got onto another searching for a beacon and finding more stuff (fetch quest). And the planet looked basically the same as the last one I was on. That's where it lost me. This open world outer space is a cool idea but a high order to fill to differentiate things and make it feel...alive. There is AI that will attack you and some alien animals but that felt lackluster. So, for the many reviews saying that this game has improved, I wouldn't know, but this feels bland and boring. And now I join the many who refunded this game.

Fun game, but with friends because you need a crew. The ship editor needs an UNDO BUTTON if it does not already have one.

Also, it runs great in 4K.

I’ll keep this short and sweet (my key points). I played a LOT of Monster Hunter: Freedom Unite on the PSP and a bit of 3 Ultimate. Monster Hunter World is like them, but different as far as some aspects. Since the “map” is seamless (as in no zone loading screens) the gameplay mechanics had to change making it more immersive. The controls are basically the same and it still feels like a Monster Hunter game. Upon first playing this, I felt the crafting was dumbed down, maybe less items to play with, but I could be wrong.

I haven’t given much time for this game, which brings me to a good point. The multiplayer is terrible. In the ‘old’ style of games, you and other hunters can hop into a lobby and play any quests you are able to do. World is adamant about making you play new single player content before you can invite other hunters to join you. HORRIBLE. My friends and I just want to hop into a quest like normal and play, not wait around for someone who hasn’t completed a part in the storyline yet. This has held us back from playing.

I have personally been waiting for an “eye-candy” Monster Hunter game because the maps look so wonderful and have quite a bit of detail. World is very ‘white-washed’, a program called Reshade can fix this and make it look even better.

Definitely recommended. Happy hunting!

Monster Hunter World plays like butter. Even in 4K.

An i9 9900K and a 2080ti can't handle Space Engineers. Constant frame drops at 1080p with the default settings. Unplayable in 4K at max settings. But this is just my experience out of the box. More fun with friends. The more you know. Have a nice day.

This is an interesting game of mixed PvE and PvP gameplay. I personally cannot stand the battle royale genre, although Hunt has this, I don't play that specific mode (I play the bounty hunt mode). I packed a handful of hours into this game, but won't go into much detail. There is a lot of attention to detail in Hunt's gameplay formula. Some quick tutorials on Youtube or even the in-game tutorials (kinda, you will get the special in-game currency called Blood Bonds when you complete them) will get you started. Or just jump in knee deep into the bayou full of the highest highs and lowest lows.

This game has its bugs (not often, but they happen), but overall feels polished and runs nearly smooth as butter, even in 4K.

Early Access Review
This is a pretty fun game, but super difficult. A friend and I have played the first level probably dozens of times and still didn't beat it. However, after each playthrough, we get a little further and learn from our mistakes. Best to get a team who won't complain and just have fun with it. Also, the game apparently does not level to how many players there are, so there's that.

And this game runs smooth as butter, even in 4K.
