As a long time fan of DBZ and someone who has played many of the popular titles over the years, I can confidently say that this game is dragon ball at its best. The sheer amount of content, characters (who feel different enough to make you have to think about which of your favorites you want to bring with to any given fight), and freedom for creativity make this a no brainer to pick up if you're a fan of either DBZ, arena fighters, or anime games in general. Even with my expectations high, this game manages to surpass them.

Onto some more of the specifics,

PROS:
+ Diverse cast of characters
+ Near limitless content with the sheer volume of playable modes and ability for players to create scenarios/fights that can be shared online
+ An easy to learn hard to master combat system that has much more depth than you would initially suspect
+ What-if scenarios that are voice acted with the occasional cutscene that really enhance the story mode as a whole
+ Voice acting is some of the best we've seen from the VAs that we all know and love
+ A fantastic multiplayer experience that runs very smooth and is an absolute blast to play with friends or against others online
+ Visually stunning game in all aspects (characters, maps, effects, cinematics of super/ultimate attacks)
+ Made with a lot of love for the franchise as well as attention to detail (dialogue, animations, character interactions, etc.)
+ A great sense of progression with the ability to unlock characters both by zeni or through in game accomplishments (such as winning the world tournament)

CONS:
- Some people may not like that part of the story is told in diorama moments or still images but I personally didn't mind much as it felt like this was done to allow for budget/dev time in other aspects of the game (Seemingly in order to avoid incorrect focus from the previous games/series that affected quality of core features and modes).
- A few notable characters are missing that may or may not be coming at a future date


I genuinely would rate it a 10/10 and I'm not generally one to rate things that high, but for what the game is trying to do (which is make you feel like you're in dragon ball and experience the fast paced action the series is known for) I really don't think it could have been done better than what we have now. There are plenty of other things I can say about this game but to keep things somewhat brief I'll leave it there.

TL;DR: Overall I think its just a fun game that really feels like a lot of love and attention to detail has been put into it which is reflected in the high quality of the game, how it feels to play, as well as the overall experience.

Played this game on day one and wanted it to be good game however I could not ignore the glaring issues. After a long battle between the community and the game developers it seems they finally understand what we as a playerbase want. Numerous changes (such as removal of dungeon keys, the existence of a test server to test patches before launch so they don't break the game, etc.) have made me change my opinion on the once horrible game new world was at launch. The game as it stands now is actually very enjoyable. It's not going to be everyone's cup of tea and realistically was overhyped before launch but it is in a very good spot right now. Easily the most consumer friendly monetization out of any MMO (coming from someone quite experienced in the genre) and a very relaxing game to play solo or exciting with friends. If you already own the game then you should definitely give the new update a chance again and if you're on the fence I recommend it to you if you like immersive games with good atmosphere and enjoy solo grinding or questing. PVP is good too but I have not personally delved into it much.

TL;DR: The game has received significant updates since launch and is worth taking another look at (also new expansion is free).
