Definitely spooky at times but in my opinion, jumpscares do not equal horror. Sure, they made me jump a bit and the sounds creeped me out, but to me, tension is the way to build real terror. This felt too generic. Fun playthrough though and definitely worth it if you need under an hour of quick spooks.

Early Access Review
Having loved the first game, I was more than excited to dive into the second act of this simple yet enticing story.

Estranged Act II is a nice continuation of the story, though, in my opinion, it doesn't do much to further the plot or get the player much closer to the end of the story, however far that is down the line. Throughout the game, you learn more about what happened to the Arque Corporation when the infection broke out, and learn a bit more about how the infection began, but that's pretty much all it does to further the story of Estranged.

This game is still in Early Access at the time of this review, with three total chapters available for playtime, totaling at about 1.4 hours of gameplay (for me at least.) The story is still great in my opinion and I will continue to follow it as I am incredibly curious to find out more about the island and see how (or if) our fisherman friend will get back to the mainland.

Despite this follow-up being a little lackluster in story, the new engine and graphics are a MASSIVE step-up from the first game. I loved every bit of the new system, as they kept the basic fundamentals of gameplay the same, while somehow delivering an entirely new-feeling experience. Well done on design, I absolutely loved it.

I do reccomend this game to fans of the amazing first act, and I am excited to see what is to come. Thank you developes for delivering another great story experience for a short sit down session. :)

This game is one of my favorites for a free, story-based experience that is both simple and compelling. The story of this lone fisherman washed up on this mysterious island that is under strict control from a strange corporation, as well as swarming with infected zombie-like creatures is an exciting tale that provides for a quick and overall great experience.

I would definitely reccomend this game to anyone who is both a fan of short story-based games, and is a fan of the source engine like myself. If you are a fan of HL2 you will also enjoy this game. I am excited to see what more will be added to the WIP Act II.

Best game in centuries. Well, since games have been around. Not only does this game have the factor of building your own ideas, but sharing ideas with others, and exploring new territories developed by fans around the globe. The freedom and endless possibility of this game is stunning. PRAISE THIS GAME!!!
12/10 would Garry again

Early Access Review
Joined the game, watched my tiny son, Timmy get taken by a buttcheek-tastic cannibal, and was thrown into the endless fun of The Forest. Ignore all the reviews on here talking about the early access. Sure, there are a few bugs, but this game is FANTASTIC! The graphics are great, and anyone with an a halfway decent computer can run it. And if your are tired of those cannibals, type 'veganmode' while in the main menu to turn on The Calm Forest.

"Timmy has a rainbow shirt. He supports gay pride. No problems there. 10/10" -Kobin Kirk, 2014, watching flying tables in a cannibal camp.

PS- Where the hell are all the passengers? And why is there just a random fold up chair next to some random storage containers? Seriously. Also, someone in Sacramento didn't get their mail.
