Over my EXPANSIVE play of this game, I have made so many memories and done so much. I've cycled through 5 larger friend groups on this game, 2 of them being alpha on official. I have to say, on official the game is unplayable in my opinion. The biggest mistake of this game is not allowing players to learn everything, inevitably making solo play much more difficult until the player can make mindwipes, and is still obnoxious to do. Modded servers, in my opinion are much more intuitive and I can really side with those who use classic flyers. I've been here since launch, and have gone through tlc after tlc, and I really have to say that the "Flyer Rebalance" really was the biggest mistake of this game. On official, stats aren't nearly good enough on birds to make them viable mounts. They take 2 times the damage, and on gryphons its even worse. They don't have saddles, therefore take almost 4 times the damage that any saddled dino would. It's just something the devs need to go back and look at. Dinos should be able to match up against their wild counterparts if they're going into battle. Anyway, to sum things up, unofficial servers are definitely the way to go. Even RP servers are great, but if you're just starting this game, I do NOT recommend playing on official servers because of how polarized they are. You're either alpha or a slave to alpha. Everyone who challenges the alpha tribes end up griefed, so do yourself a favor and hop on a good ol boosted rate server where you have a little bit of a better chance! Good game

After buying this game on release, I was EXTREMELY disappointed. There was nothing but collecting resources and buying new ships, but now this game has evolved. It's been turning into what it was meant to be. I'm so excited to see what they do next with their game!
