Easy recommendation. What you get for free is hours of extremely satisfying puzzling. For $5 - $15 you unlock limitless possibilities. Seriously, if you love jigsaw puzzles, this is the whole package other than the tactile sensation. But the space you save in your living space is worth it. That and the fact that you can have limitless custom puzzles for the price of a single puzzle or less.

It took me a while to figure out how everything works and how to utilize it with Live2D rigging, but now that I've got everything working and all my settings just right, I can happily recommend this. I bought the DLC, but I think the watermark is quite charming.

All in all, an excellent program. If you're looking to get a VTuber avatar and you're willing to put in a little work, you can do so much with this and Live2D.

I've been playing shmups pretty much since I started playing games in the 80s. It's one of the genres nearest and dearest to my heart, to the extent that I made one myself. For some reason, there's always been this block around Cave games for me. Like I wasn't good enough for them. Well, I finally, after all this time, played Mushihimesama, and it was all I could have asked for. This is a 5/5, 10/10, 100/100 perfect game. If you want to play a shmup, play this one. Also play Thunder Force V and Touhou: Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom, but first and foremost, play this game.

Umineko is a heartfelt and thoughtful game. It does not challenge you to think, as an adversary. It invites you to think, gently, lovingly, as a companion. Despite being a kinetic visual novel (one lacking choices), it is not a passive, one-way story. Umineko is a dialogue between you, the reader, and Ryukishi07. He wants your input. He wants your contribution to its world.

Even as far back as Higurashi chapter 1, Ryukishi07 encourages hypothesizing. He takes the reader’s hand and walks through possibilities to get you thinking. Umineko goes a step further and shines a spotlight directly on the thought process.

This is not to say that Umineko is purely heady. Those who read between the red are rewarded with a beautiful story about magic and what it is to be human, to be flawed, to hurt and be hurt, and most of all, to love.

If you love horror, mysteries, love stories, or just fiction in general, this is a top tier story you absolutely do not want to miss.

Free, easy-to-use out of the box, with more in-depth editing tools available as well, and the models are available for commercial use. This is almost too good to be true if you're looking to get started as a VTuber.

Extremely long-winded but fantastic visual novel. It has't quite worked its way into my heart as deeply as Higurashi did but I'm only halfway done so we'll see. If you like the Mystery genre, it's pretty much a must-play.

The art style is jarring at first and it takes a while to get going but once it sinks its hooks in, it's over.

The characters are all really fun and the mystery is really interesting.

All in all, I am very interested to continue the story.

The House in Fata Morgana touched me in a way no other piece of media ever has and I don't know if anything else ever could the way this game did. My experience with it and my feelings about it are deeply personal, so it's bound not to have the same effect on everyone, but it makes me happy to know that a lot of people love this story. To some extent, it make me feel a certain amount of acceptance for myself.

If you don't know anything about The House in Fata Morgana and you're wondering if it's for you, I will say that it is a visual novel without a ton of choices and, while not any more visually gruesome than an R-rated movie, it deals with very serious and potentially triggering subjects. It is handled very respectfully, but be aware that it does portray rape, incest, and torture.

It's also worth noting if you want something scary in the way modern Horror is, you're not going to get it here. It's more literary than it is scary.

All that said, this is a perfect 10/10 for me. If you want a good story, this is as good as it gets, at least in my book.

The more I get into visual novels, the more I understand how much the popularity of this game ruined people's perceptions of what a visual novel that tackled difficult themes was like. I can't say how many times I've heard "I hated DDLC. Is this like that?". This game treats serious subjects as a gotcha, a psychological jumpscare. I guess it's really novel for some people, but it just feels cheap to me.
