奥里是款横版过关类游戏，采用了3d于2d结合的视角。画面优美，冷暖色调交替，颜色丰富，景色和音乐大气而细腻，于自然的平衡和母爱的主题相得益彰。难度方面一周目偏高，一些部分需要经过多次尝试，但是关卡设计方面非常丰富，虽然没有直接传送，但是在从一点返回上个地图的过程中，并没有感到无趣。随地保存模式其实是简化游戏难度，方便很多难点的多次尝试，因为保存用的水晶基本不会缺乏，回复点也比较充足，甚至可以反复刷新。制作组唯一的恶意就是卡退无数新手的洪水关，其实是整部作品最难的关卡。。
