After three days of trying I finally got into MSFS 2024 and I can confirm that it's my experience (in common with the vast majority of people) that it's mostly unplayable at this time - free flight worked 2 times out of 10 attempts but the texture qualities were appalling - career mode crashed or froze at every attempt - only the most basic cessna training seemed to load and even that was glitched at times.

I really want it to work and I hope that given time it will, but, for now I join the ranks of incredibly disappointed enthusiasts who feel duped after parting with serious amounts of money for a product that wasn't ready for launch.

It's a mark of just how appalling the 2024 version is that I've returned to MSFS 2020 to fly - a game that's 4 years old but infinitely better than its supposed heir. I'll check back from time to time to see if the devs have made good on their promises. Good luck to all of you who choose to stay and persevere.

Finally, I'd really like to know, how is it possible for a new release to be so much of a retrograde step from what came four years before?! I know that 2020 had a rocky start too, but all the more reason not to take chances with the new release.

For the time being I would strongly advise against buying this game.

Fandabulous in every way - buy it now and enjoy the original FPS experience brought bang up to date with stunning graphics. Loved it and the bonus level builder which appeals to my creative side... the diammetric opposite of the satisfaction you get from mindless destruction!
