I use to love D2, spent too many hours playing this game over the years and have always wanted it to be better than it is. Update after update, season after season i wanted D2 to reach it full potential but it never did. There is alot to enjoy in D2 and if you can find something you love more power to you i just cant with good conscience recommend this game to anyone i know and i wish i never started playing it in the first place. I could go into what really is wrong with the game but there is just too much to cover.
Ill list a few here: 1. Skill based match making in every PVP game mode with a really bad algorithm. 3. Ability spam in PVP. 4. Lack of vision and support for PVP. 5. Strange balance in PVE where guns are there to shoot marshmallows at the enemies while your abilities cool down. 6. Ability-centered PVE where there really is no power fantasy focused mainly on gunplay. 7. Reissuing old D2 and D1 content as new content. 8. Lacklustre optimisation (for what the game looks like). 9. Over monetisation. 10. Overpriced expansions when looking at total content they contain.

Note: (2023/02/01) Credit where credit is due, Bungie has reverted some of the movement nerfs in PVP and has reworked to AE system. This is a step in the right direction.

Sorry Bungie but this game keeps getting worse and worse.

Note: (Lightfall Launch day) Not looking like they are heading in a direction that is good for the game. The new mod system may have a lot of new mods but the total reliance on orbs of light for the most part and the nerfed weapon damage mods is a miss. The campaign i cannot comment on as i was not one to by Lightfall however, from the first mission it doesnt seem to be on the same level as WQ was. The Dungeon pass is yet another pain point so i feel that this game is worth shelving for the time being. Maybe final shape will bring better more innovative content. Nice try Bungy but i think you lost the plot some were along the line.

After playing more I would recommend this game. Playing it and learning how to counter the more over tuned frames has been a blast. I feel like it is a unique hero shooter with interesting maps, game modes, and "heroes" to play.
It sucks that you cant get capital from anything but the season pass and i really hope this changes but i feel the base roster is more than good enough for you to do well and have fun. Give this game a try, most of the game breaking bugs have been fixed and i do not think you need to pay in to do well and have fun.
I know this game is a lot of fun and worth your time to pick up. Give it a try and stick it out. I had no hero shooter experience prior to playing and its been a blast.

Stage 2 is one of the best Asymmetric PvP games out there. Servers are back and there is always games to be played. I highly suggest people sent the store page link out of their friends as well as the link to the change.org petition to get this game relisted on steam. Lets bring this amazing game back from the dead now that it is playable and an absolute blast!!

First this i will say is this: They released this game too early, It has bugs, no in-game communication with your team mates, and things are not as straight forward when you start as they could be.
Those things out of the way, i think this game has a lot of potential to be a fun game to play. Unlike some other reviews, I am a fan of the large map and slower movement speed. It make you have to take the time to plan where you want to be on the map and when to be there.
The cross between an FPS and a MOBA is a concept i really enjoy! This isn't going to be for the most hardcore FPS or MOBA players but i think it is a game type that really can be developed into a fun and successful genre, so long as the developers take the time to work with the player base and care about the game.

I dont normally write reviews for games but i feel this game has the potential to be something really good. I hope the developers really listen to the reviews and the voices of the player base, if so i think this game could become something rather fun to play.

Like most other reviews I love the game play and mechanics and the building system. Had fun grinding to make my first item, for me a scope for my cannon truck, Then i find out you need to rent work benches for........ you guessed it, real money. Not in game money but the stuff you have to pay an arm and a leg for, or you could sell items on the trade system however the only stuff worth selling isnt even hopefull of obtaining at the beginning of the game for new players. It is a pay to win, and very very much pay to progress game. They are trying to squeeze every cent out of you and the prices are rediculously high. I was looking forward to the open beta and this game coming to steam but now i am just dissapointed at how impossible it is to progress due to the grind being so damn slow and capped. I will still casually play this game and would love to change this review. However this wont happen till they make the game balanced and fair to the free-to-play players who could become paying customers if they made the microtransaction system properly priced and not essential to progress and win. Please fix this game, it could be a great game to burn time with and craft on. I encorage more people to play the game and make your complaints to the creators.

After following this game for a while now I can say I am a big fan. The mechs feel like they should, you feel powerful when you are running your machine, you can customise you machine as you see fit and it is a fun game. If you want to stomp around in metal machines of destruction this is the game for you.

However I agree there is a balance issue and the match making isn’t very good. When I started I felt like they had thrown me in the ocean with diving weights on my ankles and nothing but by bathing suit for me to survive with. This is not a game to just pick up and play. Stick to Co-op VS AI rounds till you understand the speed of the game and how each mech works. Also the veterans of this game are good! Do not under estimate your enemy and make sure you are aware of your team at all times. It is very common for one enemy to destroy your entire team as well as one new player as a team mate to lose you the match.

It is a challenge so keep with it and you will find one of the best mech shooters out there. I have high hopes for this game still and want to see more players on it.
