Bioshock is one of those games that often ends up on "best games of all time" lists. So, being a bit late to the party (by two decades but who cares), what do I think of this game?

It's good. Really good in fact. Probably one of my favorite shooters of all time. The game has an incredible setting, a great story, amazing voice acting and an enjoyable gameplay loop that doesn't get old or tiresome.
I am gonna be honest with everyone, I do not like shooters very much. Unless they are carried by a great story, like Mass Effect is, I will probably consider the game ok at best. Bioshock, thankfully, has a great story to elevate it.

HOWEVER
The game is a bit too short for my liking. and it is a bit unstable on newer devices. causing periodic crashes.

This game is by no means bad, but if you already have an account and want to come back to the game like I did, do not bother downloading the Steam version. The Steam version is only intended for new players and if you attempt to log in through an old account, it will not work and you will get an error that goes like "please check you are logging in through the account that is linked to your steam". I contacted the EA support and apparently there is no fix for this issue.

In all honesty, I did not have a good time for the first third of the game. The story wasn't all that interesting and no matter how hard I tried, the controls just would not click.
But then, out of nowhere, everything clicked. I'm not exactly sure how, but it just all started to make sense, I suddenly got a better understanding of the controls, the AI, the combat... and when that happened, I had the time of my life. I really felt like a pilot taking out enemies one after another, and I got completely immersed in the gameplay loop to a point I was kind of sad when the campaign ended.

One of my few actual issues with this game is that everything takes kind of forever to unlock. I am a big Transformers fan, so of course, I saved all of my currency for F-22, but I only had enough for it when I reached the last 2 missions in the entire game.

Is it still really good? Also yes.

A great game, slightly overrated though. The map is ♥♥♥♥ and the pacing is off in a few parts (especially the ones where you have to go to the underground). Other than that, it's an incredible experience that really makes you feel like Batman
