Its much like Playing Diablo2 but with better graphics. Its a ton of fun in that regard, and many of its systems are familiar, yet just, refined in a different way. I like how Gem socketing is not static and you can pull and place them to test out different combinations. They can also link to each other to change how the work, not only via support and damage, but function of the spell/ability. The skill tree is also cool, though they could have done a bit more work explaining how it works for new players, as you might end up not being able to fix things later on, since respec works via respec points not full respec like most other games. Aside that though their are gem sockets within it as well, some that allow you to create specialized skill trees for whatever char you want to make. It does really give you the feel that your char is unique to you, though you can still also follow a build guide if you want.

Nothing really new to see here, other than the Maps mechanic allows you to potentially have limitless configuration for places to loot. And my god is their loot. Too much loot really. One complaint i have is that a bit more quality over quantity of all the crafting mats weapons armor gems ect. would make it feel more rewarding. One of the reasons is you can fight a huge boss battle and randomly get either all crap or all nice loot. Their are modifiers to combat this, however i think theirs just so much crap in total that it goes well beyond the days of D2 where their was sometimes loot all over the screen. In this game theirs always loot all over the screen but most of it you will never even touch. They even overload the Unique's where you will get more than usual, yet most of them are junk and might as well not be a unique. I'm not sure if it was just lazy game design with a random loot generator, or if they really thought all players wanted was to loot stuff all day but you get my point.

AND AS A LAST NOTE: DEVELOPERS!!!! : ATTN : PLEASE at least try to get a curb on the gold spammers. Its INSANE out of control.

This game is simply breathtaking. The only possible downside is if they do not continue to expand on its core elements and call it a finished product in its current condition. I feel as a gamer over time we become numb to the amazing advancements in the gaming industry. What was PONG yesterday is unacceptable by today's standards. I simply cannot get over how much this widened my eyes in a childlike amazement as other games used to in my childhood. Like all things it has its boundaries and areas for improvement, though above all it was a delightful fresh take on exploration that takes your emotions for a ride.

Even now I'm still piddling with creating my own biome, transplanting fish and breeding them to release near the creep-vine forests. it really gives a feel that you are observing and researching an alien planet. Every-time i think Ive done everything something new pops out. This game is well worth $24 and with more content to come, i would have no issue paying for DLC expansion.

Things the game needs:
1. Minor bug fixes for glitches (Main one is falling through the map)
2. More creativity in some biomes that feel out of place compared to the rest.
3. Needs at least Co-Op, perhaps up to 4 player LAN.
4. HARPOON (nuff said)

Things the game excels at:
1. Fantastic Immersion
2. Interesting crafting with depth and simplicity at the same time.
3. Great story (Maybe a real alien or survivor or 2 though guys?)
4. Creative creatures and shivering scary larger mobs

If you like exploration/survival games at all, this one is an instant classic. In my opinion it is easy to overlook the flaws and room for improvement because for what is there is so well done. But don't take my word or anyone's, try it yourself. Id highly recommend staying away from spoilers too as it will break some of the immersion if you already know whats going on.
