Game is awesome. Played almost 90hrs so far.

But, Rage quitting on Hell kills the fun. Their team magically kills my ADC (13% agro), while my tanks, (33% each) are almost full hp. While I have to cut down every tank to get to their back line. Plus, numbers seem to just not matter anymore. They always hit harder despite having less atk & armor ratios. I thought it was just crits or abilities going on, but I watched battles at 1x speed. Nope. It just never adds up. And I don't mean one bad match. This has been most matches.

I'm either going to never play again, or cheat my way through with altf4 until I get lucky. I hate luck based games. So, either way I'm not going to enjoy the game any more.

TLDR, don't play hell and enjoy the game. :D

I feel like I needed to review this game because what the game has to offer is far after the 2hr refundable mark.

The game is a super grind. But the game loop is engaging. I often find myself saying, okay this is the last day, only to start tasks on the next day. The game saves like Stardew. So if you start a day, you need to finish it.

In the beginning there is not a ton of content, and it doesn't seem to have a lot of late game content at first glance. This is because so many things are hidden until you unlock them. Almost every time you level up you unlock a new feature. And a new customer type. Which is purely aesthetic, but I love getting new cute animals.
Levels come super slow! Do not think you will level quickly. But each level is far more rewarding than what you usually get in a game.

One important thing! Change the option from hold to push on item activation. Makes a huge difference.

If you don't mind spoilers here is some of the things you unlock as you go.
SPOILERS
Part time workers to sell drinks.
Combos, customers can order two items like burger&coke instead of one.
Time bonuses like selling breakfast foods early as an ex.
Seasonal bonuses for selling things made out of specific ingredients
A cleaning robot.
A souvenir rack to sell items other than food.
A take out booth for customers not able to dine in
Clover skill tree to upgrade robots and equipment production.
Farming. A robot to harvest for you.
Beds to make an Inn
A history tree that unlocks lore.
And there is more than I've said here.

Negative review for now.

Characters snore while sleeping. Even if you turn ALL sounds off.
No idea when it saves. No save option. I quit on Day 3, only to reload on Day 2.

Overall solid game. If these things are addressed I'll play again and likely change my review.

The concept is great. The game play is fun. But,
TL:DR;
The risk/reward is not balanced. There is no clear goal or motivation to advance. Quests are counter intuitive.

The meat of it. (no pun intended)
You are better off staying on planet 1 indefinitely.
You can make and save money there and all traps/upgrades are available.
The roguelike aspect (quests to open planets) more often end your playthroughs than advance them.
Even after opening a planet (gaining prestige, completing high risk quests and paying a fee) your reward is minimal cash increase that comes with increased difficulty of new customer and event types.

What I would have liked.
IMO the rougelike aspect should have been the traps or upgrades not quests.
This would allow different strategies per playthrough.
Static quests would also give you something to mold those strategies around.
Plus, a linear pacing would become a measurement of success. Thus, motivation.
"I'll make it to planet 4 this time!"

As it stands, you will likely skip to whichever planet has the least insane quests. You don't advance as much as bounce around. Your ultimate goal is likely unlocking everything, which is feasible from planet 1. Or Achievement hunting, which is mainly just grind.
So I cannot recommend.

My first review, this game deserves it. 10/10

FTL is among the few games I've aquired over 100 hours in which is grounds for review alone.
Unlike those other games where I accumulated those hours within a two week binge period, FTL is a sort of recurring addiction.

Reasons for replay:
-I've yet to unlock every ship so there is always reason to come back.
-This game is difficult but not impossible. My wins are few against my attempts, but each carries a great sense of significance.
-Each playthrough is comparable to a new short story.
-Tactics vary due to a vast array of species, weapons, & ship systems. They will also hinge on the randomness of shops.

Favorite fun tactic:
1. PLay as the Lanius. [Do not require oxygen]
2. Open all hatches on board except for the bridge. [Hide non Lanius crew]
3. Laugh when boarded.

TL;DR
PROS: High replay.
CONS: Difficult.
