The game is fantastic for how early it is in development. The trailer honestly makes it seem further in development than it is, but the promise is very much there if we give it time.

+Fluid combat with a surprising amount of depth to it in interactions and understanding when you can combo.
+Fast turns, with up to 8 player lobbies currently.
+Destructible terrain. Slam your opponents into buildings or mountains, destroy the layers of the ground during a match until you reach the void below.
+Surprisingly high skill ceiling! I win lobbies pretty often, but there are still some players who make me feel weak, and regularly impress me with plays I would not have thought of.
+The music so far is a bop. Really hits that cybernetic/industrial vibe well. Can't wait for more tracks!
+Color your mech! I am actually impressed with how few mechs look the same, despite no customization being available so far. I've seen colorings that look like EVA-01, Sandstone mechs, Optimus Prime, the original Gundam and more. I have yet to see another mechs color look anything like mine!
+Good community that is at the /very/ start of organizing tournaments. People are plenty willing to hop in voice chat and teach you the ropes and combos.

-Still early in development, but that is just a matter of time, so hardly a real negative. Equipment/skill customization will still be a while from the looks of things, but come learn the ropes if you want to be ahead of the curve!

A relatively clunky game with seemingly not too much content overall, but what is there provides a challenge. This game is difficult. Very difficult. My brother and I are quite good at games, and we have beaten the game several times, but only got to the true ending twice, and died tot he final boss.

+Hardcore/Permadeath, and very difficult.
+Limited random level generation keeps things familiar run to run, but never the same.
+All enemies are a threat, even the ones you kill quickly. Every mistake has a cost.
+No matter how strong you feel, the true end game enemies are a serious threat.
+Shopkeeper always gets his revenge sooner or later.
+Replayability with unlockable classes/perks.
+Controller compatible.

-Lacking total content in favor of some RNG and self-challenging yourself with the content it has.
-Kind of clunky handling your characters progression/equipment menu until you get used to it, but it's actually very simple once you do.
-**** Spikes, that is all.

This game is the first time I have come back to the retro RPG style combat in like 15-20 years. It combines very well done aesthetics with an limited-perspective open world setting, and it worked extremely well. Don't think this game is for kids, as the platforming and hidden areas to reach are often challenging, but rewarding. If you love the idea of parkour and open world discoveries to liven up the original classic RPG style gameplay, this is the perfect game for you. I don't say this lightly, this is now one of my favorite games, and I am only about half way through the game from what I know.

There are bosses at the beginning of the game still that I cannot beat, despite discovering them ages ago.
I just found my way to a town so far ahead in the game that each of the normal enemies were capable of one shotting 1-2 of my characters if they got a turn to attack without interruptions of reducing their damage. Some even had skills capable of wiping my entire team if I did nothing, yet I was still able to punch-up and beat these groups occasionally, despite taking hits and several turns per enemy to kill them. This game rewards skill and planning.

The QoL in this game is just through the roof. I don't think there's a single game with a more streamlined experience as you get used to navigating menus and traversing the world. I do however say this while using a controller. They even bothered to tell you how long is has been since you last saved when trying to quit the game. All the mechanics are explained through NPCs a bit into the game in nice detail. Damage formulas can be seen on your moves when you are learning them. Enemies stats and moves can be seen if you Scan them or beat them at least once. There is just so much quality.

I eagerly look forward to any future games made in this style. It's relatively simple design gives plenty of time to put quality into the game, and these developers went and took some extra laps from my experience playing the game so far. Bravo.

This game gets a lot of flack for its extremely long development time, due to the very small team behind it, however the quality for this game is unreal. This is by far one of the best games I've played in recent history.

Pros:
+Good story, though still incomplete.
+Skill based combat with perfect guards and mechanics you have to utilize to your advantage to beat this game. There's a lot more builds that are possible than one would think at first glance, but it takes experience to understand them.
+Many enemies are far more interesting than just running at you like most games.
+Well thought out puzzles built into the game, including an infinitely generated math puzzle cave. Casual content most games wouldn't bother implementing.
+Hidden secrets no one brings up, you just have to realize for yourself it exists and figure out how to get their.
+Great online Co-op with up to 4 players, along with a great lobby menu for setting it up.
+Character customization, though still incomplete with some unimplemented options.
+Lots of puzzles, including some rather difficult phase puzzles with a lot of timing involved.
+Crafting, though limited in scope.
+Arcade mode, a challenging floor based mode to see how far you get. My record I think is floor 14, it's really, really hard to go far in it. Really lets you test out a lot of builds though. Has its own town system and everything with quests and perks.
+Some REALLY cool boss fights.
+Quite a bit of humor, not only in the story, but in item descriptions, side characters, and just about everywhere.
+Insane menus for exploring what you have experienced. Inventory can be sorted, you can view the beastiary and see what drops they have and ones you haven't collected, the map shows you which areas you haven't gotten everything from. It's crazy.
+Unmatched quality, seriously. This is truly among the most polished and love-filled games from a team I have ever seen. So much content they simply didn't have to add, but they did. They did that for us, and the game's not even finished yet. Can't wait to see what else there is.

Cons:
-The game is still incomplete. There are some chests you can't reach, some plants in the world that you can't interact with yet, the final(?) story mode dungeon there, but you can't enter it yet. In general a lot of side content to be finished off in one of their content patches finishing up the game in the future.
-Crafting is limited in scope, but it does give you some goals to work towards while farming cards and stuff. Maybe some of the final content patches in the future will flesh this out more.
-Currently, while there is a boss challenge room, it's only got a couple of the first bosses in it. There are so many cool bosses, it's a shame you can't re-fight them just yet. This will be solved in the end I am sure, but not right now.

Honestly don't have many complaints. Most of them are certain to be resolved by the end of their development. This game really does deserve far more love than it gets, it's outstanding. I recommend hard mode for seasoned gamers, and trust me, it won't be easy. I eagerly await the rest of this games content.

I Wanna Maker has been in development for several years by the Elephant Crew of devs inside the "Fangame" community, and is basically the "Mario Maker" of I Wanna fangames. The level editor is out of this world good, and requires no actual coding. People have made normal platformer levels with needle, boss fights, and even remade complex things to create like Sudoku, Minesweeper, Super Hexagon, and much much more. I even made a Metal Gear Solid level. It's outstanding, and you should check it out if you have a creative mind right away. I like making levels way more than playing personally, but if playing the levels is your thing, you can speedrun and try and take the records for every level if you wanted. :)

I haven't played the first 2 games of the series, but so far the game is good. The main story is clearly a tutorial of sorts, and it will take a while. Still not through it myself, but new things keep unlocking as I play. Very simple concept for gameplay, but lots of customization to make your team more powerful. I can tell already that I am so weak it's insane, compared to what is possible.

So far, they keep increasing the difficulty every 3 realm floors, to new zones. Every 3 floors is a new boss to defeat and unlock the next. You likely won't beat the boss straight away each time, but that is perfectly fine. You have monsters to strengthen, and gods to gain favor with, to unlock more rewards and features of the game. The more favor with each, the more stuff you can do in the game it seems.

Looks like a game I will be working on for probably months to come, if not longer. Casual fun, seeing how you can make your team as strong as possible, and judging by some of the late game features like Super Bosses, I imagine I will need to be as strong as possible, if not stronger haha. Definitely recommend the game if you don't mind retro RPG battles, and want long term gameplay, testing your strategies to the limits.

Although seemingly simple in design, FTL: Faster than Light has continued to blow my mind with its overwhelming amount of content in such a simple form. From battling Space Slugs, and saving pirates from ship wrecks, to unlocking new ships and races as you play, to being stranded without fuel in the middle of the cosmos, this game will not disappoint you!

FTL: Faster Than Light is a top-down insterstellar space sim, featuring combat much like the old DnD computer games. You can pause and make decisions step by step, and watch your decisions play out moments after. Managing everything aboard your ship while aiming lasers and fighting enemy cruisers can be a lot to handle!

When I first watched the trailer, there was a lot of things going on, and many of which I didn't understand. Even still, I decided to jump right in to this space sim gone horribly right, and it was one of the best purchases on steam I've ever made. The big turning point when most players seem to realize just how complex this game is, is when you first learn to open your own airlocks, to put out fires, suffocate enemies, or even save the equipment in a room from enemies smashing them! New physics not considered anywhere else, that are so simple, that they astound you when you first learn about them.

While not every run will allow you the opportunity to play any way you want, that is also a part of the genius behind its design. You want to become a boarding ship, to take otu your enemies hand to hand? You better hope you run into a teleporter then, they won't always be available to you at every shop. Sometimes you don't run into weapons for a while, when you were saving up for a good weapon. You passed by some mid tier weapons only to realize all your money doesn't mean anything if you do not run into more along the way!

Overall FTL: Faster Than Light will keep you on your toes as you explore alien homeworlds, untraveled Nebulas, surprise bandits and environmental effects that will make each run of the game Unique in its own way. Evolving to meet the demands of each run is the way to success, as not everything always goes your way.

With the patch releasing the new Lanaris Race, the races 3 new ships, new weapons, and an extra ship layout for all previous races, this game will only become better. So jump on the space train and ride your way into the next adventure awaiting you!
