Wait for a couple months before picking up the game. I am new to the S.T.A.L.K.E.R franchise so I'm not sure if this is how most stalker games are, but, this game has a lot of issues with optimization, graphical glitches and enemies spawning constantly. So far in 3.5 hours of game play my game has crashed 4 times, I've encountered numerous graphical issues and have found that after killing a group of enemies in a base, I can turn around and another group will spawn. Not only that shooting at one enemy will sometimes spawn 3 more which I find very annoying considering a lot of these enemies are extremely bullet spongy. I've put 15-20 AK-74 rounds into an enemy once and he still came at me full force, had an enemy survive 2 grenades in a watch tower and put 12 buckshot rounds into a cloaking enemy and then dumped half a viper mag into it before it died. I understand the troubles the developer has went through but at the same time I think some changes need to be made and you should definitely wait for bug fixes before purchasing this game. Once the bug fixes are implemented I'll consider changing my review but until then I cannot recommend.

Game is good. The variety of weapons and different takes on the pickups make the game unique. Right now there are performance issues, at least for me when there is so much on screen the game seems to chug and I teleport around, enemies not taking damage, etc essentially making it unplayable.

Edit: After playing more with friends, the AI still needs to be re-tuned. Being tracked and shot through walls when the enemy can't see us is a bit frustrating. Especially getting domed by AI stuck in a wall. Guns getting dropped in multiplayer that only the host is a big issue on missions like rust belt and neon tomb doubling the length of the mission time since the host has to double check all arrests from the start of the mission. The final issue I have with this game is the achievement system. I hate how the achievements are single player only and do not work through multiplayer. Whether by design or bug I'd still like to get achievement progress through multiplayer with friends than trying to play solo with AI.

I will say the funniest moment I've had with my friends is when Slidy McGee was gliding around rushing us down, shooting us through walls with no chance to fight back.

I will say again, Ready or Not this game was released. I can't wait to play it tomorrow.

TL;DR: Don't buy and wait for them to finish making the game. So sad that this needs to be said.

If you find yourself bored and needing a game to play then by all means go ahead and buy this game but in its current state I cannot recommend it to anyone. Even on PC there is an astounding number of bugs in the game that are not necessarily game breaking (there are a few that I've encountered) but can be quite hilarious or just down right annoying.

The story mode itself is very entertaining however there is a lot of missed opportunity with the life path that you choose. It only grants a bit flavor to the beginning of the game and then afterwards just streamlines down into one path. I would love to see CDPR make improvements to this but its more likely they will not. The customization in the game is a joke, you start off with a cool animation when you get your first cybernetic upgrade but after that its only functional upgrades with the lack of visual style. There literally seems to be hardly any customization at all. The AI does not seem intelligent what-so-ever and all of the cut content that should've been in the game is very much so noticeable. These 'free DLCs' I fear are only going to be additions to the game that should've been there at launch instead of adding anything extra to the game.

All of the RPG elements to this game is very severely lacking and not worth the time investment in its current state. I would highly recommend waiting for them to pull a No Man's Sky before actually attempting to play this game. Once the game has been updated I will consider changing my review.
