Vanilla is decent but the game is much more playable modded. Rhagaea is your enemy, nexus mods is your friend

Is good game

Fun game, realistic, beautiful. I'd compare it to borderlands in the way it seamlessly accomplishes squads with gun dynamics. Other than that, it's completely it's own game. Very fun so far.

Pros:
Great teamwork capabilities, it's like I'm in an actual squad of soldiers
Good selection of different weapons and gear
Interesting skill tree, though somewhat hard to get started on
Beautiful landscape with clear signs of an apocolypse and little details everywhere
Fun combat
Open world makes doing missions a fun experience, like I'm actually traversing New York and helping random people

Cons:
Sometimes the game doesn't load or will not work in the starting screen
There are a fair share of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, like any other game
Hard on video cards, I have a gtx 960 and can only run it on low-medium (That's my own fault though)
Not too much character custimization, many people end up looking like others slightly

Pretty fun. Gets boring after a good 20 hours but still a good game.
