I honestly never really was one for platform fighters, but this game made me reconsider. The characters are all so unique in play-style and even fighters that may occupy the same role can go about it drastically differently.

For example: Superman is a mobile terror in the sky due to his ability to fly, and comes with plenty of tools to not only get onto characters but also escape if things get too dicey. Compare this to Taz, another bruiser character, but one who excels at just causing a lot of chaos on the ground and who is most at home when he can be up in someone's face and STAY in their face for as long as possible with his tornado, wild attacks, and the ability to straight up eat someone. Taz wants to maul you, Superman wants to comet strike you.

This is not even taking into account the inherent passive abilities some characters have exclusive to them, such as the one allowing Taz, after attacking a player with certain combos and abilities, to turn the enemy player into a chicken who can not fight back. Punches feel like they have impact, and matches can feel incredibly tense for a game with shaggy committing hate crimes against extraterrestrials.

All this combined with lots of flavor, humor, and being able to send not one, but TWO 12 year old boys on a one way ticket to the emergency room earns it a thumbs up.

Very fun game that can keep you entertained for hours with its multitude of races, factions, and army compositions at your disposal, provided your computer can handle it. Though it has its fair share of issues, such as the infamous "suicidal artillery", these seldom outright ruin your campaign. With how much there is to see and do, not even counting the many amazing mods, it is sure to be a worthy purchase for those who like a good strategy game.

(I also reccomend you have the first one as well to access the Mortal Empires DLC, it adds much, much more content to have fun with.)
