Great game for fans of shooters. There's something for every type of player. You can sink a hundred hours into D2 or a thousand, and will still have something to do.

Straight masterpiece, and very much deserving of all the hype and accolades it's received. Play for yourself and get lost in this amazing game. Combat is decent. Story and characters are both A+. Playing the first 2 Witchers helps a bit, but is by no means necessary for full enjoyment.

CDPR sets the standard for what a developer can and should be, and it's clear they've poured everything they've got into TW3 and its playerbase.

Fun game if you can get past the fact that it's very much NOT Tolkien lore-friendly. Combat is pretty easy and story is kinda cliche, but who doesn't like to carve up an orc or three as a super-powered undead Gondorian?

I suck, but it's definitely a fun game to pick up. Surprising amount of nuance, and infinite replayability. Great with friends.

Amazing core concept, but not very well executed in places. A lot of aspects of the game are broken, but are slowly getting fixed by devs that, while taking a lot of well-deserved heat at times, clearly care a lot about The Division and its playerbase. With all this said, I have been able to sink a lot of very enjoyable hours into this game because it checks many of my personal boxes (loot-based shooter, co-op, and min-maxing builds to name a few), and was a nice break from Destiny during its content droughts. The game is also gorgeous - faithfully recreating a post-apocalyptic NYC clinging to what remains of its humanity. As for the DLCs, Underground is okay and great for getting loot, but gets boring after a while. Survival was AWESOME, and was a ton of fun. Very much like H1Z1 KotK or PUBG in terms of replayability. Last Stand is broken, and I honestly didn't play much of it after a couple games. So pretty "meh" across the board, but Survival is definitely worth a look.

Edit: Leaving my original review up, but editing to point out patch 1.8 fixed a lot of the remaining issues I had with the game, and The Division now stands as a great, finished product that does its ambitious design justice.

Started playing right after I finished the first so I could jump back into the ME universe. Story picks up quickly from the beginning with some crazy twists and turns and will hold you glued to your screen until you finish the game. Builds upon the strengths of the first game, but improves in many ways. Much improved graphics and particle effects make you feel like you're actually on the alien worlds Shepard and his crew visit. Your crew is also larger and the loyalty system ME2 introduces lets you get to know each crew member better through unique missions that usually reveal a lot about their backstory, which is nice. Campaign is also longer (took me 25 hours), especially if you do sidequests and loyalty missions as you go. By the end of the game I cared a lot about my virtual crew, and I did all I could to keep them alive (thankfully they all survived!). Feeling invested on an emotional level is rare in a game and like the first game, ME2 succeeds in doing so. I'm both looking forward to and dreading playing Mass Effect 3 because I really want to continue the story, but I know I'll be sad no matter how it ends.

Considering how hyped these games are, I had high expectations after I bought the game and sat down to play it. From the get-go, I loved how the game's action was designed with a strong emphasis on gear and squadmates, and a smaller emphasis on combat, which was generally very easy on normal difficulty (and honestly it wasn't that challenging on hard). The decisions, however, were far from easy. I'll avoid spoilers, but Sheperd's decisions can mean life or death for some members of the crew, which you grow attached to throughout the campaign. Mass Effect is all about role-playing and it does it very well. If you don't feel emotionally invested in Sheperd and his crew, you're playing the game wrong. It's not so much the gameplay (which is still pretty good), but the emotion and ability to make the story your own that makes it a really good game. I'll definitely be playing the sequel soon.
