I've played a lot of this game, I have a max character of each class, (other than ogryn which is like 28). And I would love to tell you this game is good. I cannot, the itemization change just added extra grind to an already grindy game, the servers are god awful, even with 45 ping on a local server, it struggles to maintain a good connection. And my biggest issue, no solo play. As someone who often just wants to try weapons in an actual mission, I cannot stand playing with incompetent randoms who get the mission failed by doing something stupid. Even on the lowest difficulty. They have private games, but only for 2+ people, which to me defeats the entire purpose of having a private game. Just go play vermintide 1 or 2 and if you really want the grim dark sci-fi. Space marine 2, it does the job better and you aren't stuck with people you don't want to play with.

The game has such a bad epidemic of cheaters that the game should not be reccomended.

After their first major balance update I will be changing my review to a negative. Guns that felt necessary at the highest levels have been gutted and nothing has taken their place. There is no notable way to clear large enemy heavy armor anymore outside of Stratagems.
Our only options are a weapon with 2 shots which will likely take both for any decent size enemy, the spear which only gives 5 shots for a long cool-down, and the recoil-less rifle, which like the spear only has a few shots for a long CD.
They also seem to be in the business of forcing people into random 4 stacks. My buddy and I could easily run tier 7 missions on bots and tier 9's on bugs. That is no longer the case for bots. There is no reliable way to kill them if they are in groups anymore. We hit the button for an objective and it spawned easily over 100 enemies, at least 20 of which were heavy armor which we cannot kill anymore. They made a massive mistake with their balancing team. The weapons didn't need nerfs. It needed competitors.

Edit: While they have fixed some of the difficulty issues and made the game far more manageable, now they have a game ruining bug where there are constantly crashes on a nearly every mission basis. and on that same patch they also added host servers, so if you're friend leading the mission's game crashes you lose all progress. They are well aware of it and have yet to fix the problem. I have probably lost 5-10 hours worth of progress to crashes, probably close to 100 medals and dozens of the super rare samples and hundreds of rare and common samples. The game is next to unplayable at the moment.

I was given this game specifically to play with some friends, just to within a day of them making their characters, have the devs lock the world in question while the population was showing as low and say it is full. Thus, effectively making the money spent by my friend on a very long delay, asking them to remake their characters is out of the question. And when I contacted the games support for info, primarily and expected time frame for when it might be up, got told they had no idea and then they closed the ticket.

Do ya like mechs?
Do ya like explosions?
Do ya like smashing your head into a wall against bosses that you only saw in ads?
Then enjoy.

As of right now it is a bit hard to recommend the game. Mainly because the Dev's have been dead silent for over a month and a half with nothing. Now, I am a firm believer in doing something right even if it takes a bit more time. However, the no updates over the time are my issue. There are rumors that the Dev's got the money they wanted and dropped the game. I sincerely hope that is not the case because it is a seriously enjoyable game with a ton of potential. If you want a sandbox battle sim for huge armies. It's a solid choice with a good engine. I just hope the devs give us at least an update soon.

The game itself is fun, but between ♥♥♥♥♥♥ controllers and online being full of mouth breather's who can only spam characters acknowledged by the community as broken and toxic, it's a pretty boring experience online, especially when you get into it.
story is fun, but if you are looking for a fun online fighting game, this isn't it.

I would love to recommend this game, but I can't. God forbid you wanna play this game solo, the RoE for the game itself are so insanely restrictive. You are potentially dead long before you are even given the chance to fire. Trying to take enemies out before they kill you is considered a bad thing by the game. So unless you either have a ton of friends to play with. I would not recommend this game.

I love this game, It's a lot of fun. Usually. But this is mainly a complaint for the new expansion. Old content is still a lot of fun, Strikes are still themselves. But the new content is just unbearably grindy and frustrating. The quests to unlock and empower your Statis sub class is just annoying and poorly laid out. The quests and abilities play as if they were tested out purely in a solo player, diablo style setup. If you are unlucky with your team mates or damage over time. Your statis quests will take hours upon hours to complete. Mind you, this is also for rewards that are locked behind these quests and some classes have a glaringly overtuned kit compared to others. Warlock in particular is abusrdly overtuned compared to the other 2. An instant freeze into a one shot. 2 of them. A super that lets them freeze and aoe instant kill any players in a large area. Warlock can use up to 4 mods for this as well. While both hunter and titan are relegated down to 2 at the max. Without being able to do strikes solo expect to be sitting on these quests for a while. And absolutely never take the crucible ones. They almost always require shatter damage kills. Which is insanely buggy and very rarely rewards you with the kills. Several times you will go for the shatter kill and it will register as either your weapon or a melee kill. Forcing you to wait and wait to try again for the same result. This game was fantastic before this xpac dropped. I looked forward to playing it every day after work. Now, I barely want to log on. It is just frustrating and grindy. I recomennded this game to a lot of my friend's but now. I can't you are better off waiting till they either balance statis, or fix the quests.
