Hit right into the childhood nostalgia, so many references to keep track of. Hyped as hell for the next one.

Early Access Review
In short, real fun. Mechanics feel crisp and responsive, gunplay is solid and fun to play and the setting itself I really liked. The mix of your average br but in an alien dome and energy based power armor akin to Crysis, it all really made sense unlike the more common "parachuted in by plane somewhere with an oh so mysterious zone closing in" theme in use today. It was different, but it also made sense, and I liked it. All the negative press this game garnered was really due to poor marketing as far as I can tell, which left their servers completely empty for way too long, and whoever actually bought the game ended up leaving shortly after. Hopefully it'll revive now, regardless of the lack of support, thanks to it going f2p, and for now the signs are encouraging. We're getting 10-12 players pretty fast, though only played on EU servers as of yet so can only speak for those. Matches here are also real fast compared to other brs, which is another thing I like about it, and that's regardless of how many players are actually in. It would move with about the same speed whether you had 10 or the full 50 players. Anyway, one more thing I'd like to mention before this wall of text gets out of hand, in my particular case I'm running it with just 8 gigs of ram. And I can feel it. At the start of the game, after landing, have to literally hide in a corner and wait for everything to load in. After about 10-20s it's perfectly playable though but do be advised of this if you want to play it with this much ram on your system.

Anyway, long story short: It's free now so give it a go whenever.

>If the story was able to make you feel uncomfortable, I would be very happy!
Well I'm glad you're happy, at least one of us is.

I started this quite optimistic looking at the reviews and on the most part they were pretty accurate. Sure, I can, and will complain about the bad voice acting and pretty bad English translation, but believe it or not that's not really that big of a letdown overall.

The voices themselves weren't bad per-se, just that you could tell the voice actors were struggling. Most of the time I could envision the two in a recording studio instead of the actual setting. Still, all I did was turn off the voices and kept reading it for the story, which worked surprisingly well, only turning them on again during the humming scenes.

My next bone to pick with this were the English translations. Really... really hit and miss most of the time so you have to rearrange the sentences in your head for the most part. That said, after a while I got used to them and only took one or two seconds to rearrange the broken sentences for myself while not losing that much of the atmosphere in the process.

Now while it might seem like I'm bashing this more than praising it, I'm mostly throwing my critics first since I wouldn't want to spoil anything about the actual story for once, and since everything that was good to be said about it was said already. Short but real cute story overall, impressive visuals and a surprisingly good soundtrack which I'm still surprised they're giving away for free.

There's also one more... feature shall I call it that I'd want want to talk about, and that's the wiki links it provides throughout the story. Personally I spent at least a quarter if not more of my time in-game reading wiki articles quoted. That said though I feel like they could've linked a few more since it was a real nice feature. Using Steam's inbuilt overlay browser instead of my normal one would have been nice as well bit this isn't really a resource hog so could have the browser opened without any problems.

All in all I'd recommend this if you feel up to handle the hit and miss translations. Otherwise wait for more updates on the matter.

If I had a dollar for all the times I flipped my ♥♥♥♥ over this game, I'd still be pretty bloody poor.
