Not much of a Gears fan here, but the game has a lot of theme and personality, and is really close to the X-Com style with cool modifications. Sadly it has some flaws that make it not that of a good game, and made me want to drop it a few times:

- Character leveling is almost not existent
- the equipment is really lame overall and you will probably select one mod and only wait for to get new version of higher level.
- You will need to rearrange your equipment in between missions to comply with the requirements, and the UI for looking at equipment and setting it all up is horrendous.
- You will need to fumble through the equipment because to add variability to the missions, some have weird limitations or debuffs to your party, or buffs to the enemy. Sometimes you can only field 1 or 2 guys, just because. Or cannot use a given character, or enemies will have higher health, or you get less actions...
- This changes are added because the game besides the "Main Missions" has 4 "side mission" styles, and around 2 or 3 maps of each and you will have to play a lot of "side missions"...
- The campaign consists of 3 Acts, Act 1 has 6 story missions and the other 2 acts have 8 each. In between those story missions you will have to do "side missions" sometimes 1 or 2, and a lot of times 3, from a small pool of missions in those 4 styles.
- Given the ammount of side missions you have to do, they become tiring fast, and that is what prompted the devs to add the modifiers to each mission, and this brings it to:
- Pacing and Dificulty: the missions all in all area mostly on the easy side, and you can help out your guys most of the time, but all this side missions screw with the story pacing and the modifications to the rules, specially later, causes some weird dificulty spikes, when the game decides to spawn 2 boomers on a mission where you have only 2 soldiers, and each boomer will take usually fire from 2 or 3 of your guys to go down...


So, after all that wall of text, I've got to say, the game is not that bad as it may seem. Combat in general is fun, the graphics are good, and sound and music is real nice.

I would only recommend this for very cheap with high discounts, or if you are really looking for some X-Com lookalike.

A very good implementation of the classic tactical squad strategy game, in the vein of X-Com on grim horror genre setting.
The mechanics are all flavorful and promote a more agressive gameplay, as killing enemies recovers all your AP as your Posse gets filled of Bravado.

In Hard dificulty the game is challenging but not that hard, but it a really good entry in the genre. Recommended 100%

Pros:
- Great combat mechanics with innovative spin
- Great sound design and voice over
- Thematic systems and rules
- Campy story that scratches the western itch.

Cons:
- Low variability for customization/ progression
- Of the 6 characters there is 1 that has 0 advantage compared with the others.
- Some builds/Skills make mowing through the enemies a real cakewalk

A fine action JRPG with a simple story full of heart and charm.
Gameplay is simple, but entertaining though it can get a bit button-mashy.
Dificulty is good enough, and there´s no much need of farming or grinding, just make sure you explore the game world fully and do all quests and raids and you should finish the game around level 75 with at least three characters with all skills leveled to the max.

The game Is really fun AND gameplay Is awesome. But... Liberty and Democracy requieres se so not submit to the corpos and linking a PSN account.

If they remove the PSN requirement the game Is a great way to have fin with friends

Awesome game. A real work of love. Satisfying puzzles and no bugs or glitches or anything wonky, at the low low price of free! what else could you ask?! an 11 out of 10!

Una excelente remasterización de un juego que marcó mi adolescencia. En PS1 jugué éste juego muchas veces, y cuando inicié esta versión, cuando vi los sprites por primera vez, escuchando la música inicial, se me cayó una lágrima de nostalgia.

Más allá de lo sentimental, el juego sigue siendo excelente, y han aplicado unas cuantas mejoras de calidad de juego y nuevas mecánicas que lo hacen super accesible y que respete el tiempo del jugador.
Un juegazo con todas las letras.
Recomendadisimo!

Mi hijo de 5 años dice que Spyro es:
- Divertido
- Le gusta
- Nada más...

Great game in the vibes of Syndicate and Syndicate Wars... Two awesome games from when I started gaming

Nunca me engancharon demasiado los juegos de la saga Souls, y no me suelen gustar demasiado los juegos de mundo abierto. Pero éste juego me viene pareciendo una joya.

Cuando le de mas horas seguro actualizo ésta reseña...

El juego hace muchas cosas bien, pero a la larga se vuelve repetitivo en el gameplay, el mundo es amplio solo porque si, lleno de "misiones" de relleno totalmente innecesarias... Y los bugs... o por dios... más de un año despues, y con una máquina más que suficiente para correrlo, vivo experimentando bugs de sonido que va y viene, o que directamente no se ejecutan. Texturas que no se cargan y aparecen todos modelos cuadrados, hasta que carga, problemas de animaciones... un desastre...
En fin. No puedo recomendarlo realmente.
