I picked this up on a whim while it was on sale and it is sooo good. The combat is super fluid, the music / atmosphere is great, and I honestly didn't expect the story to be so engaging. Honestly wen't in not expecting much, I've tried other games in this genre and I usually drop them at around 5-40% ( depending on the game and when I stop seeing a reason to keep going ) but this one has kept my attention.

If you're on the fence, 100% give it a shot, and if it's not your thing after 1.5 hours you can always refund it.

I found it really fun, and it's cheaper than a USD burger lol
after 32h though I'm kind of done with it, but there are still many more unlocks and secrets to be had... still 100% worth it

I'm having fun, was dominating at first then hit a skill level wall and haven't won since. I'm about to go practice parrying, if you can't handle losses I'd say avoid it but if you enjoy a challenge go for it.

Edit: Nearly dropped it due to the controls seeming weird to me but I'm so glad I didn't. So far I've only played duels, my skill level isn't there yet but I've been winning a bit more with unpredictable moves and mind games, it's so satisfying =)

I love it, the previous one ran on my potato i7 GTX960m... and this one does too ( it runs better than the last one on my pc ) but that is at lowest and with most stuff off (30fps lock for me), although I have read of people having issues with high end graphics cards on 60fps.
You also have a lot more freedom on the key customization now.

I like the gameplay but I am not a real fan of the story... it's basically the same structure as the first games story and has no improvements, games fun though.

If you liked the original one and are not super concerned about graphics I'd say go for it if.

I had a blast playing this with my friends ( in 2020 ) super cheap, fairly short but you can replay the campaign in higher difficulty not only for an added challenge but also for various unlocks.
There is friendly fire and a tonnn of spell combos, the world is very creative and goofy... story was ehh for me.

The game has secrets too which we love searching around for.

Fun at first, but it's just a cash grab.

You can't get the cards you want without spending way too much time or buying packages to make the grind a little better.

This game holds a special place in my heart, it's the only one of the franchise that is so immersive. I mainly played the prepare to die edition but they ironed out a lot of what was wrong with the original.

I've seen this game get discounted to 5$, I'd say take it for that, though I'd gladly fork over 15$ even in 2020.
PS: I use Mouse and Keyboard and have had no problems, I play most things this way.

Seems like they keep bumping up the price, wait for a sale... 39$ is a bit high for how old this game is, still good... but dated now

I love it, still come back to play PvP long after I finishe the game.
If you're new to the souls games I recommend starting with DS1 ( remastered ) then make your way to this one ;)

Those who say it's bad on keyboard and mouse apparently don't play many things with keyboard and mouse... I found all souls games aOK without a controller
