10 out of 10 toes in, standing on f**king business - another Free Lives banger (makers of Broforce, Gorn, and Genital Jousting)

2nd Edit - as of January 2025, they've fixed a fair amount of the real annoying bugs and I feel like it's worth a pickup.

Edit - Don't buy this until they've had a chance to fix a lot of the annoying issues.

I love a lot about this game but the stamina system to use items is so egregious, it takes the fun out of the game.

Waiting for your stamina to recharge so you can use bow/bombs/boomerang really takes you out of the gameplay and there's no balance to to how much stamina each item uses, so the boomerang costs as much as the bomb/bow making the boomerang a useless offensive item.

I remembered liking this on Switch but I must have had rose-colored glasses on, pick up for cheap in a sale if you are dying for a zelda-like

Buy it but cheap or if really thirsty for a metroidvania

I think I like this game, but I know I don't hate it and that I don't love it.... I'm lukewarm on it. Buying it in a sale for cheap would have made me happier about it.

Pros:
- Movement
- Environments
- Music
- Skill tree, systems
- Enemies
- VFX
- Really corny VO
- Upgrade trials are fun

Cons:
- Character design doesn't really fit the environment or in some cases looks really out of place
- Sound effects on hit sometimes doesn't carry weight or sound week
- I really don't care for the story
- REALLY CORNY VO
- Upgrade trial process feels unnatural; get key, open trial, get upgrade, fast travel and then traverse back to where you were going. It's breaks the flow hard.

There are bits and pieces of this game that I like and remind me of SotN but a fair chunk of it, I just don't **love**

It's like if your option is a cold Pepsi or a room temperature Diet Coke, you're mildly inconvenienced by having to drink the Diet Coke but it's still better than a Pepsi.

The type of game you can play when you should be working, fun - easily accessible

Reminds me of Crystal Defenders

Best Elder Scrolls, worst UI

I really did not enjoy this one.

Design is all over the place trying to do a bunch and none of it well.

Feels like an Itagaki rip, art from Bloodstained, main weapon system from Sorrow. Hated the music and enemy design.

Projectiles are obnoxious, pacing is awful, leveling up feels really arbitrary, enhancing is a lackluster experience.

All the lessons learned from Titan Souls, good and bad, expanded upon with a gorgeous world, beautiful audio, and a engaging story.

A must play.
