A very solid shooter with punchy weapons and intense encounters. Enemies go down fast, but can easily swarm you if you don't play aggressively. Some ammo management is needed. The world is bleak, brutal and captivating. I eagerly played for long stretches to see what was coming next.
I hope the dev's next game will be a sequel.

Replaying this after 11 years. Punishingly hard gameplay on the higher difficulties, second only to the brutality of the story. The experience of this game will stay with you for as long as you play video games. It's been de-listed everywhere, so get it by any means available to you.

Super Kirby World Adventure.

The game is a short brain teaser which will drive you to madness. A fitting aspect for an Eldritch themed game. That is, until you solve it and have to smack yourself for how simple it really was. Though it does feel good to crack it.
This game understands the importance of brevity in tell a hyper focused narrative and fits in perfectly with H.P. Lovecraft's narratives. Lovers of Howard Phillips' stories will be pleased with this super short but engrossing puzzle.

Basic grid based combat, that gets challenging towards the end. Fantastic, engrossing story which draws you in and grips you tightly. It is a fresh approach to a Digimon story, while being perfectly reasonable within the multiverse nature of the Digital World linking to many different human realities. The human characters have their own stories which develop and grow the longer they are with you. The Digimon partners get a lot of screen time too, which should be a main draw to any Monster Tamer genre fans. This is one of the best examples of focus being given to Monster/creature characters which is a breath of fresh air in general, though Digimon has always been good with this.
Story-heavy VN fans should be happy with this, Digimon fans should be happy with it. A great entry in the series.

This is a quick and dirty blast of retro-style FPS fun with vibes of DUSK, Quake and build engine shooters. It's not out to be the best retro FPS but it is filled with good action, big levels, lots of enemies, fun interacts with some objects and fast paced action.
Additionally, the music for this short, cheap little game has no right to be as blistering as it is.

I really liked the bit where I had the gun.

This soundtrack is shockingly fantastic. It seriously needs to be talked about in the same breath as the original two DOOM and QUAKE games. Sometimes I just stand still in levels to hear the music for a little bit longer.
You'll quickly come to find there are tracks here that you will come back to hear again and again. Here's hoping for a FLAC upgrade in the future.

A multifaceted experience that is unlike any other. The difficulty of understanding is part of the captivating mysterious appeal. This game is the perfect remedy for those sick of formulaic yearly installments riddling the mainstream.

I believe it is important to go into this game with a fresh mindset for a fresh game. Do not go in expecting Dawn Of Sorrow, Super Castlevania or any of the past Castlevaina games or else you will be disappointed, this is a total re-invention of the series.

First brought out on 360 and PS3 this is a well done port of the consoles' game. Gameplay is for the most part fluid and exciting though the unmovable camera can be cumbersome, however this is not a massive problem for the most part and is unlikely to cause player death. The combat system is a finely tuned version of hack-n-slash with lots of combos to unlock and learn. Despite the large amount of different attacks they combinations are easy to learn and remember.

Attacking feels satisfying and fights offer a lot of variety as each different type of enemy has unique attacks and fight styles which encourages learning new fighting methods mid-battle and changing up attacks constantly.

An area ‘Lords Of Shadow’ excels at are its environments. Each place Gabriel journeys through hints at unspoken history with snippets of past adventurers fates scattered about. There will be many times you may feel the want to put down your controller and take in the spectacular atmosphere rich scenery.

The voice talent in this game is solid with great performances from Robert Carlyle as Gabriel Belmont and Patrick Stewart as Zobek who convincingly carry the game’s dark plot forward with weight and impact. The story itself is engaging and a great example of character development.

I strongly recommend this game for players new to the Castlevania games and to long time fans who have not picked this up yet. For those who owned the game on console, it looks fantastic in 1080p however the cut-scenes have not been up scaled which makes them jarring.

However I would not recommend buying it at full price if you are only interested in the DLC as it is telling that the creators stated they did not want to make any DLC but were pressured into it given the game’s successes.. While ‘Reverie’ plays to the game’s strengths and gives more insight into Gabriel after the main game’s final battle and the child-vampire Laura and turns out as enjoyable and interesting, ‘Resurrection’ is simply an extended platforming section filled with many instant death hazards with a single boss battle at the end which is underwhelming and unfair as it punishes you for using the combat tactics the game has taught you to use during the previous 18+ hours of playing. At least though the end of that DLC gives a little more story that is useful to know going into LOS2.

Overall a great game that will satisfy for at least the core experience. There is a lot of re-playability on offer to collect hidden items and power-ups and use abilities found later in the game in earlier areas which should keep completionists happy and the beautiful environments and memorable characters will stay will players for a very long time.
