Surprisingly deep for a game with the 'idle' tag.
Most of the interesting upgrades require a limited resource; your choices matter.
Each game loop feels fresh until the end and the boons you keep from each one feel very impactful, it never felt like a grind.
The game can be relatively short if you prefer to min/max quickly rather than explore and experiment but for the price you will find good value no matter how you play.
Very chill and charming aesthetic.
I found it surprisingly refreshing to play a game without an active antagonist I had to react to but still gave me interesting choices to make.
Written in Rust which is very cool.

Its not perfect but for the price I'm very happy with it so far. Really nailed the 40k aesthetic.
The only problem that actually detracts from the experience is that the plasma gun's firing animation prevents you from switching weapons until its done which feels pretty bad when the game is so fluid otherwise.

Gets a bit repetitive and grindy but sometimes you just want to be in a big shooty/stompy robot and shoot/stomp other big shooty/stompy robots.

EDIT

After many more hours I can't pretend this game doesn't lack the polish it really needs to be playable. The grind and general monotony of endless samey missions is offset for a while by the spectacle factor that mechwarrior typically brings but its just not enough.

Here's the reality.
Every mission is 95% the same, regardless of type, faction, lance, etc. The only real difference is the size of the generated map which is often far larger than necessary, requiring you to stomp minutes of your life away to be able to click on the red things each time.
The generated terrain is ugly and its very easy to perceive the seams in the preset tiles.
The mech customization is simplified to the point that you can barely tell the difference between mechs of the same class.
The AI is dumber than a bag of rocks; your allies with constantly get stuck on terrain, sluggishly respond to your instructions (if they do at all), and have 0 situational awareness (walking into crossfire or just straight up crashing into the player or fire support mechs running into close fights despite being told not to etc etc).
Enemy spawns are insane, tanks will pop out of thin air in front of you or spawn 2000 meters away inside a rock on a mission where you have to kill all enemies.
You get the same tutorial style voice prompts for many in game actions even after doing them thousands of times. ('walk up to the treasure to pick it up' anyone?)

I want so badly to like this game but every time I play it it wears me to down after just a few hours. They got the spectacle aspect mostly there but its just not enough to make the game good. Though i do get the sense that the devs wanted to do so much more. Its very sad.
