This game really is such a breath of fresh air, though. The characters all have such Character and while I haven't gotten very far into the game yet (listen...those boxes and book piles won't loot themselves), so far the overall writing has been very good.

Combat is pretty classic, standard, easy to use but with plenty of options for mastery. I've been playing on balanced and have already TPK'd a few times, but it's never from anything truly punishing, mostly just a lack of preparation and being a bit rusty at tactical games on my part. It's what "balanced" should be - challenging where it needs to be, but casual-friendly and rewarding overall.

The graphics are remarkable even at the lowest settings; I don't feel I'm missing out on anything visual except maybe a few minor details (facial markings aren't that crisp, for example) but even then it's hardly noticeable, has no bearing on the playability of the game, and is still far and away superior to most games that aim for a similar graphics style. This game, even on low settings, looks like how I used to imagine games I grew up with looked like, only this time the quality isn't imaginary.

Also I made my blue dragonborn a ranger and they already look like a western outlaw, which is more than I could have ever hoped for, A+, 10/10 would claw an enemy in the face and then introduce their buddy to the concept of ballistics again
