It’s quite good. Just as good as the original, if not as influential. This adapts the original quote well, while updating the gameplay. If you have played this and not the original, go give it a try. You may not like it as much, but it’s worth a look.

Edit: Finished the game awhile back and it was great. After an update, the laggy menu problem seemed to lessen. I had a great time with this game and am glad to see that it turned out so well. A really fun experience the whole way through.
Honestly pretty good so far. The shaders compile on first start up so that's nice. It seems some people still get some stutters and others don't. I've only had one or two when loading a large new area and it doesn't bother me. My biggest complaint is navigating the menus with mouse and keyboard. It feels like inputs are delayed or don't register, so I have to hit escape 2-4 times to exit a menu. Denuvo sucks too, but those are my only complaints so far. Overall, this is pretty solid and works much better on launch than some other recent games.

Pretty mindless, pretty broken, pretty fun. Lots of issues and I see why people don’t like it. Hope it gets more content.
Edit: The game feels even more busted the more you play it and I'm not really sure that's a good thing. Be wary when playing this, there is basically no progression and the Battle Pass sucks. I'd only play it for a couple hours to mess around.

It's pretty fun. Challenging, but rewarding. You will get absolutely destroyed early on, but the new matchmaking might help with that situation. The setting is what drew me in and it's definitely a selling point. Set in some isolated bayou in Louisiana filled with various forms of zombie residents and dogs.
The gameplay is, as I said, challenging, but you learn as you go. Since dying causes you to lose your hunter and gear they had, you will learn from your mistakes or your enemies good plays. Essentially you buy weapons and tools to use in a (kinda) battle royale style match, but this plays a lot differently than others. Instead of a shrinking field that kills you and draws players together, Hunt lets you find clues to a boss monster, which shrinks the area you know it could be. Players are guided towards an objective instead of forced. Then once the boss is dead, it drops tokens which need to be brought to one of 3 random extracts on the edges of the map. I find this system more engaging and interesting than other battle royale games. You should enter this game with the mindset that it is not a battle royale (Quickplay is singleplayer mode styled more traditional BR however).
Balance is quite good. All weapons have some place or function and are generally all useable. The meta tends toward Long ammo weapons, but really anything will work if you understand its best playstyle. There are some things that could be better here or there, but IMO, nothing is a standout in a bad way.
Player count is steady, but don't expect a huge playerbase. I'd described it as a small/average size, but dedicated playerbase. Depending on time of day, you might have some slow queue times.
For the future this game is definitely worth it. It still gets updates with balancing, and new content. We also know that a new map will be released sometime in 2021.
Worth it, but it'll take some time to really start to appreciate it. Not a "try for 3 or 4 hours and give up" kind of game.

The game didn't disappoint for sure. It was very well optimized and ran well and I didn't experience any bugs in my playthrough. There is a pretty good balance of mechanics from the previous REengine games (7,2,3) and RE4. Combat is certainly more of a focus as a result of the RE4 merchant and inventory mechanics however. The atmosphere is less scary overall than 7's I would say, but the section following the castle is... well you'll see.
I think the biggest issue I had with the game is the gameplay and tonal shift halfway through the game. The first half of the game felt like RE7 mixed with RE4 gameplay mechanics, but halfway through it goes full RE4. There's a ruthless military/industrial compound type section just like RE4, a tractor tank boss fight, and you even get to play as Chris doing Chris things .
Overall, the game was very enjoyable and worth the wait. Personally I prefer RE7 to Village, and would say its 4th out of the main 8 games, but that's just me.

Kinda thought my performance would be worse than RE7 and the RE2 and RE3 remakes, but surprisingly this demo ran better with similar settings. Was fun to get a small look at some sections and I definitely have an idea of how much combat we will get in this game. The RE4 store and storage mechanics really gave me a good idea. Looking forward to the full release on Friday.

Really great game. One of the best games in the RE series. Some people didn't seem to like the shift to 1st person, but I think it fit the tone shift this game went for. The excellent setting and sound design combined with this 1st person perspective actually made this this game pretty scary in the first half. I really enjoy the rest of the series and I found some of the other games creepy and atmospheric, but this game tops the others in that department. This game manages to feel different, but similar to the rest of the RE series, both in gameplay and atmosphere. The last 3rd does fall off a bit in quality and is definitely the weakest point of the game. Overall this game was a lot of fun and I am looking forward to RE 8 next year.

Edit: Before reading below, I want to say I’ve had a lot more time with RE games. This version of the game seems to run much better than before but I can’t promise any issues are gone completely. I also don’t hate the controls anymore due to a lot of experience with the old RE games. I still think the movement is the worst part of the gameplay but I no longer dislike it as much as I used to.

Ok, I want to start by saying that this is a good game. There are some technical issues that cause me to not recommend this at the moment.
The first thing to note, is a big startup bug. There are some discussion on this issue that you should check before buying this game. My particular issue appeared to be common. The game would refuse to run if you use a monitor over 60Hz. The solutions are to download some software and toy with some settings or to hook up to a 60Hz monitor. Luckily I was using a laptop so I had an easy, but annoying time hooking up to a TV and then playing with a controller. If you don't think you can solve this issue, don't buy this game. There are other startup issues that are not the display issue, so be careful.
Aside from that, I found the gameplay fun and the story is good, but (unpopular opinion) I hate the old tank controls. I often felt the game was only difficult because of the controls. Those who played this when it came out might say that that's the point and the character of the game, but I am not a fan.
Especially now that the game is being remade for 2022, I would not pick up the PC version of the game unless the startup issues are fixed (doubtful). If you really want to play this game, make sure you can work around these issues or just play it on gamecube or the other platforms it was originally on.

First I should say I've played this game a lot longer then the 18 hours you'll see. I've played for probably 700+ hours on xbox (not exactly sure) and this is also why I have basically no achievements. Initially I never wanted to play a MOBA, but my friends were playing it and got me into it. The 3rd person view really makes the game feel more engaging to me. The characters being part of mythologies and religions also help interest me more. I think this makes the game a bit easier to get into and learn then other MOBAS, but it still takes a while to get the hang of it. Balance is somewhat inconsistent, but the game is updated every 2 weeks at least. There is also the usual toxic players, but when you start out, you get put in low level lobbies so everyone is equally bad.
Besides the main MOBA gamemode (Conquest) there are side modes, which can be a lot of fun and can help you practice different mechanics as you work up the skill and confidence for Conquest. Arena can help with teamfighting practice and joust/clash can help with laning and objective play.
Earning characters is fairly easy. You are given some starting characters and you can buy others with earnable in game currency. I never bought the pass that unlocks all characters and it's worked out. You can rent characters for a much lower price to try them out or use them in practice modes. Once you find someone you enjoy playing you can save up enough to buy them.
I think this game can be a lot of fun. There's problems with balancing, other players, and the learning curve, but it's worth a shot considering it's free.

The second game in this great series. This time, there are more mechanics and a grander scale, making the gameplay much better. The story is also great, if not as iconic as the first game. Another cast of fun and interesting characters. The same great soundtrack from before with some new tracks. The game might not have the recognizable characters from the first game and might be a lot more difficult, but it's worth playing. Fans of the first entry won't be disappointed.
