I worked with Zach while he served as a teacher at HOCET Secondary School in Mkuranga, Tanzania from 2011-2012. He not only demonstrated a commitment to excellence in the classroom as an English and Geography teacher, he also took leadership positions outside of the classroom. Zach was detail-oriented, held students to high expectations, and created systems of accountability that produced strong results.

Zach's creativity, personal initiative, love for learning, and appreciative approach was critical to the success of the Gardens Program. These adaptations were essential to program impact, and despite many contextual challenges and cultural differences, Zach was able to work with flexibility and a sustained sense of possibility.

Consistent with his strong capacity for leadership, Zach has done an outstanding job of managing his work responsibilities, maintaining relationships with colleagues, and responding to feedback designed to help further develop his professional skill-sets.
