Civilization 6 has had its share of controversy, but I have to be fair as a 20 year Civilization player. You look at a lot of single player games that don't make anything new anymore, but with Civilization 6 we can see that the creative team is brave enough to make bold attempts, which is actually rare. The mechanics of Civilization 6 leave a lot to be desired, but I have to admit that the game feels much less repetitive, and it's great that each game you have to choose your development ideas based on the natural conditions of the geography.

Biggest complaint: the Chinese translation! Chinese translation! Chinese translation! This translation only shows one thing, disrespect for Chinese players, nothing more.

If the official wants someone to translate Civilization 7 for free please contact me, I used to translate all the text myself after Civilization 6 came out and played the homebrew version for a while. I speak good English, high TOEFL IELTS score, history and geography buff, and have been playing since Civilization 3.

Tussen haakjes, laat me iets toevoegen.

The Empire Strikes Back.
It was released in 2009, but thousands of people are still playing it, and this says a lot about the game, an era of colonial wars, and the conquest of territory rich in resources. This aristocratic strategy game with monograms, a strategy that somehow mysteriously conveys the spirit and the sense of that distant and interesting age. Total War has always been built on two pillars: the strategic campaign, which is based on turn-based action and tactical battles, taking place in real time in full 3D. The campaign is a complex iturn-based strategy, in the best tradition of Swedes from Paradox Interactive, see their series, Europa Universalis and Hearts of Iron; diplomacy, economy, internal and external politics in the form of charts, tables and graphics. Hundreds of soldiers converge in hand-to-hand fighting, cavalry mounts soldiers in the air, someone gets stabbed in the head with a stray arrow. This is a hardcore, complex, PC strategy that was only released on PC.
Flying Core .
It's hard to believe, but EMPIRE is a super high-tech game, it just doesn't show off its technologies, they just work for the gameplay. It's not something you see on the screen, it's not an illustration of the internal calculations, it is these calculations. So when a cannon fires, it's not a conventional demonstration, each core is calculated by the engine, according to a thousand parameters. You see how each shot crashes into the ground and gets stuck in the mud, because it's raining. You see soldiers falling from their horses as a result of buckshot, and there are 77 units left in the squadron. This is of course a real treat, during battle, to put the camera down and see how soldiers clean rifles with a ramrod, or roll them into a cannon. The longer I play, the more it turns out to be amazing. Soldiers arrange knifing inside buildings, and use fallen buildings, as well as any fallen trees as shelters. And the materials vary, depending on the time period, country, and geography. In the different types of troops, there are several special abilities that can be activated in battle, like guns can be transformed into bayonets, etc.
AI Intelligence.
EMPIRE is a surprisingly modest game, it does not shake its own achievements, it slowly reveals itself to us. But the main attraction, of course, is the AI. Here The Creative Assembly treads on very uncomfortable territory, artificial intelligence, in EMPIRE, seriously suggests that we are dealing with a thinking machine. Computer learns to change its priorities on the fly, and take into account not only local, but also global, strategic objectives. AI learned a sneaky human trick to sacrifice their soldiers, in order to what would be for example to lure the player to his desired position. Unexpected retreat, change of strategy on the fly, etc. Previously, the computer never set up his troops under attack, he worked on short-term tactics, choosing them from laid in its library. In the short term, the loss of soldiers, is clearly a negative result, so the AI would have done everything to prevent this. But in the long term, this decision can only be an element of a large strategic plan. Most importantly, the AI that handles AI battles, and the AI that manages enemy actions in macro-strategic mode are now linked together, and can only fight a diversionary battle to wear you down and your army down, like when my army was attacking his towns and provinces. A computer might give up, just because the battle isn't important to it, or might fight you to the bitter end in the most hopeless fight so that you incur more casualties before assaulting its cities and provinces. This is all pretty hard to believe, but do it yourself and see how the enemy throws infantry at our cavalry only to divert it from artillery and flank us. Or how he sacrifices his soldiers, who are facing our troops in hand-to-hand fight, by shooting shells at them and others from afar, to say nothing of the fact that both our and enemy soldiers can make mistakes, stumble, drop their shells and be killed by misfiring rifles.
Reform of the housing and utilities sector .
First, regions can now have several cities instead of one capital.Villages develop into full-fledged settlements, and thus you have new slots to build buildings. And you will have to build a lot - EMPIRE now has a full-fledged technology tree, research, new discoveries, and replacement of jammed hands.
