I have never played any card games so there will be no comparing in this review.
I really like the art and whole design of this game and stuff like effects and shadowing are done really well.
Voice acting is perfect (I prefer Japanese version... It is much more suited for the whole game).
I was not expecting story mode but it is kinda enjoyable and helps you learn some basics of each "craft".
The most thrilling part comes when you must build some deck that will actually work against at least regular players. It was really hard for me to decide which craft I will focus to and how to play the chosen craft. The hardest part is to build a deck where cards can really coop witch each other and give me some hope of winning by that. Fighting is that "enjoyable" part where you only combine quality of deck and your own capability to do the best choices depending on the given situations.
I think that I will continue playing this game and actually try to improve. Good part is that it is crossplatform with phone.

Note: This review was made by newbie who knows ♥♥♥♥ about this game so I expect that lots of veteran players will find this review "funny" (cringe it is).

Not gonna lie. This will be next Huniepop for me... simple game without any interesting story... But I think I will have at least 50 hours on this... PS: nude.patch.txt EDIT: Sadly no 50 hours is gonna happen... This game is really good but so damn short... I already stripped all the girls and stuff... So 4 hours I guess...

I can not complain. It is almost the same game as Action Unleashed... Fights are smooth and nice... lots of upgrades, heroines, outfits... and it is fun. Another good Nep Nep game.

Nothing really changed in second game... It is still really funny, entertaining and gameplay is enjoyable. It is kind of nice to see new main heroine and lots of new characters with different personalities, playstyles... I like this game a lot.

So much for developers to improve... really much... but the game is enjoyable... Story is kind of interesting, combat and gameplay is nice... Maybe a better optim in town would be nice... and more affordable customes... But yea, it is fine game.

Well... It was not good experience for me... Animations are terrible and I do not really like the combat... When I saw all that anime stuff and trailer... They can make you drool but the game itself is bad.

I already did a review long time ago but I was like 13 hours into the game. Now after 70 hours of gameplay I will write a new one. Before I start I wanna let you know that this is my first Tales of game I ever played and I am still looking forward to play another titles especially Zestiria which is set in the future in the same world.

If I should give my opinion to the game as a whole... It was just awesome. I played some other JRPGS and tons of games as a whole before and I would still put this one among the best. So yeah, my review will be mostly positive.

When I look into the gameplay and mechanics of the game I really love the battle style. I am kind of tired of turn based combat like in Neptunia and many other JRPG titles so this stuff with combos building and clean combat... it was refreshing. There were no fps drops or bad performance at all... it was smooth and nice experience. Travelling on boat, visiting regions, building team (artes, equipment, etc) was nothing too new but it was done well. Flying board was a gift from the gods btw. You can learn some lore and stuff if you don't rush things and really listen to people on the streets... and it makes the game world more immersive. I did not expect much side content and I did not get much in the end... just some "hard" optional bosses, fighting islands and minigames. No side quest whatsoever... but I am ok with that. The game is long and big already. Cooking was something I barely used but I had some fun with voyages. Overall the technical aspect of the game was good.

I WILL NOW TALK ABOUT THE WORLD, STORY AND CHARACTERS SO THERE COULD BE MINOR SPOILERS AHEAD.

The world the game is set in... There is nothing really different from countless worlds in gaming but it was not bad by any means. No elves and other generic races, instead Malaks, Daemons... There is a "disease" in the world which turns humans into daemons and then there are exorcists who fight against them with help of Malaks... there are some gods and stuff... I do not want to spoil more but I think that it is enough to give you a rough image.

Story is downright amazing. It is not classic "save the world" fantasy story but a dark and sad revenge one. You can not really say that there are "good guys" against "bad guys"... Yes, there are "bad guys" but the protagonist of the story and whole crew are not really good in any aspect (except one or two). You could call the story ballad or some dark legend from the past... It is definitely worthy of anime adaptation (which I hope in).

Characters are diverse... and this part of review is more based on my subjective opinions so take it with a grain of salt.
There were not many characters I truly liked but there were not many I hated either. I will not talk about minor characters but only about "protagonists" and "antagonists". When it comes to antagonists I really liked Shigure. He was good warrior with pure heart... and was just on a bad side I guess. Melchior was your classic bad guy... not really much about him. Oscar ant Theresa were kind of sweet... and I pitied them... they deserved better. And finally Artorius... kind of tragic character... you can hate him, you can understand him... the truth is he was not really different from main protagonist... Now when it comes to playable crew... I loved Rokurou and Eizen. One is cheerful swordsman daemon (and killer ofc) and other is smart Malak pirate with sister complex. They were both really entertaining and made the story more interesting and kind of bright. Then there is Magilou. I would say she was almost the same as them... Her behavior made the game more funny and she is kind of best girl. Characters which I sometimes liked, sometimes they were annoying, sometimes I did not understand them at all... Laphicet and Eleanor. You can call them the "classic fantasy" characters... they don't like killing and care about others... but when it comes to Velvet they change and that made them sometimes annoying and hard to understand (I will talk about it soon). And finally Velvet... yeah, I did not like her at all. I understood her in the beginning... like yeah she was betrayed and wanted her revenge. But after that it all went into... really annoying, selfish, hypocrite character. She was willing to kill innocent people, destroy everything... only for her revenge... She said stuff to others like "If you ever hurt Laphi..." and still she was the one who hurts him. When there was a scene when she "kind of" found out that her brother is maybe alive (it was an illusion) she was willing to abandon her whole mission and even fight others to stop them (it did not happen but she was ready to)... and when she found out the truth I was expecting that her hatred will at least turn into "I will kill him to save the world"... nah "I will kill them both because they betrayed me, I still don't care about world or innocent people, I just will do what I want because Laphicet told me it is ok." I really could not stand her. She kind of redeemed herself at the end but still... not my favorite character at all... Well that is it about the characters. Again this is my personal opinion which will probably differ from other people.

Now I should make this "pros cons" thing... Lets finish this review:

- could have a little bit more side content

- the world could be a little more interesting

I played only for an hour... but I can tell that this game is really good... because I already played it on PS4 (finished with true ending)... Optimalization for PC is faaaaaaar more better then PS4... there were lots of drops especially in fights and in certain areas... Here... 60fps all the time. I hope there will be more people online because on PS4 it was almost impossible to join somebody in the fight.

It is much better than I expected. Fights are entertaining, graphic really fits the style and whole immersion is on high level. You have many options about your character including detailed look editing, fighting styles, outfits and many more. The world is kinda opened and Capital is well made place. I encountered no fps drops (all time 60fps) and no bugs. I am really looking forward to spend hours and hours on this game.
