I worry that people will be put off of this game because it is a dating sim, which I know is not a genre with a very wide audience, but I hope that every person reading this plays this game. It has a complex narrative that couldn't be told in any other medium. The journey this game takes you on is so full of surprise and emotion which I have not experienced in a video game before. Even if you're not 100% convinced, this game is free, and a rather small download to boot. Download this game. Play it to the end. You will not be disappointed.

This is a fantastic, but short, puzzle game. It also features some simple sidescrolling runner mechanics. It has two types of puzzles. It has a more structured type of puzzles with clear mechanics and rules, and it has a little bit of more open-ended point-and-click-style puzzle, but the real challenge of the game comes from the former.

Although the puzzles themselves are fun, and the runner mechanics are not bad, the real joy of the game comes from the characters, the mystery, the plot, the hidden secrets and easter eggs, and all the other gimmics that I won't spoil for you. This is a really weird game, full of surprises, and that's where the game shines the most. This game took me about three hours to complete, mind you I went fairly slow looking for secrets, and I'm going to go back and try to find the rest, but if I had to guess as to the minimum amount of gameplay, I'd say an hour and a half, maybe? Not to say I spent 90 minutes hunting for secrets, but you might be faster at solving the puzzles than me.

TL;DR The game has solid puzzles, but it's more than just the puzzles: it's the progression and surprises that make this game great. Avoid spoilers at all costs.

The clues! They're so good. Finding clues is just... oh my god... Play this game, and figure it out on your own. That ♥♥♥♥ing internet will ruin the immense euphoria from solving a difficult puzzle. I solved one just now and feel like the smartest person on the planet... so good. Just... I'm not going to give away any spoilers or even mention any of the puzzles. Just know there are 25 endings to collect. So good. Just... So mysterious... The clues...

I've mostly been playing this game with a friend, so I have played/watched my friend play closer to 5 hours total.

It seems cute, but is very, very scary. For me at least. The only other horror game I have played was P.T.
Also it is super cute in the beginning :)
There is even a little bit of cuteness in the middle and close-ish to the end (We got to room 900)
But those cut-outs are still very scary, despite their cuteness. Then you get to laugh at being spooked by something cute :)
10/10 spooky 12/10 me

I just finished my first playthrough, and I am about to do my second, but I thought I would take the time to review the game first. The game has wonderful story, level design, and ar and theme.

I enjoy stealth games, but I usually lose interest in them eventually before I beat them, but in Dishonored the story kept me engaged and playing the game to the end, and now I'm about to do it a second time to see what effect my choices have on the story. I would go out of my looking for books and notes with as much determination as looking for runes and bone charms. Sometimes the choices you make come back in really interesting ways, but I won't give spoilers (sorry!). The resolution was fantastic, I've worked hard for my low chaos run and it payed off.

The early tutorial levels keep saying Play Your Way and give a bunch of examples of how to beat the level, after the tutorial there are still many ways for you to win with high and low chaos and different impacts on the story. The levels are perfect to let you sneak through vents, climb over rooftops, hide under tables or peak around corners (probably unrealistic but super helpful for not getting detected), or just run through everyone with your sword and gun. There is also a lot of variety in the levels.

I am in love with steampunk. I wore goggles to school a couple of times. My friend told me it was cringe-worthy, but a bunch of people I don't even know gave me compliments, which was nice, so, maybe go out and by goggles for yourself? get steampunk a bit more mainstream? I'm getting off topic. The point is: I love steampunk and this game has fabulous whalepunk, which is basically the same thing, but more creative and original. I love all the art. The whalepunk street lights and Victorian sort of clothing, how dark it is (I mean gloomy, not hard to see), everything is great, especially the faces. Everyone is all caricatured and looks really unique. The textures are super neat also. They seem pretty realistic, but also sort of painterly. Like a really realistic oil painting.

To summarize: the developers of this game deserve much more money than what they are charging, but the game is pretty old by now so it's cheaper. Lucky you.

I love this game. It is not really much of a game, though. The gameplay is mostly trying to guess very easy combos. The STORY is what makes it wonderful. It is a fantastic experience. I won't spoil anything, you should play it for yourself. :)
