PROS:
It's an experience. If you're passionate about VR then you need to play this because it would be impossible to make a non-VR version of it.
The game is mind-bending. Even more so if you don't watch any previews.
There will be games in the future where the developers will say they were inspired by Fisherman's Tale.

CONS:
It's only a couple hours long (but probably a more memorable experience than most things for $20).
There are some flaws in the execution like objects getting stuck on things (but the items reset if you drop them).

NERD BONUS:
Every course in software design should use this game as a case study in UX principles. The scaling narration hints are a textbook example of the usabilty pay-off you get from user observation.

I lost a sword when it got stuck in an enemy's shield, so I back-handed him across the face and he dropped the shield as he went over a cliff. I picked up the shield with one hand and pulled my sword out of it with the other. I blocked an axe swing from a second warrior with the shield, cut his head off with the sword, then threw the sword into the chest of a third attacker and picked up the axe...
The fighting is this game is fun. Like, really fun.

My brain function actually felt different after I would play this game for a few hours. Everything began looking like it might have an indirect solution. Every action seemed fraught with side-effects. It's a genuinely mind-bending experience.

You should read the other reviews. They've probably said everything already.

If you like Factorio and tower-defense then you will like this game. I even prefer it to Factorio in some ways because you can focus on resource distribution without micromanaging robot arms and double-sided conveyor belts.

Plain and simple fun. This game could form a dynasty of sequels and I would play them all.

Tried the update and saw the new pop-up warning about starving. Thanks for the UI enhancement, I'm changing my review to positive.

I'm sick of dying of starvation! I'm watching the radar, running down a hallway and suddenly go from 120 health to dead with an inventory FULL OF FOOD. No auto-eat, no warning pop-up like the one that stops you from walking into a sunbeam, just some tiny text and a screen fade that looks the same as the regular one you get when changing into a vampire.

This game FEELS more real than any other game I've played in VR. I can flip a knife and catch it then throw it a robot's foot or elbow and get a different response. It's an amazingly good game engine. I wrote a bad review at first because the game was too short for the price and the level design too repetitive. Then I played other games that were the opposite and came back to change my review. No one should play VR without playing this game.

I never thought of Lidar data as being beautiful before this but now I think about point clouds differently.

I bought this in June 2018 and it is NOT ready for VR. Using a GTX 970 I find most games look great on my Vive but this game's HUD is unreadably small and the option to scale it up is greyed out. The frame rate is too low for VR. There's just a lot of VR issues and you shouldn't buy the game if VR is what you want. I read a few posts online from months ago saying that a new patch messed things up. I guess they still haven't fixed things.
