for 10$ this game is a steal, if you like to tinker with loadouts and manage resources, time and people, on top of a survival top-down shooter, this game is good.
Only thing i wish for really is a post-game chase. there are many game modes to have fun in, but i would like to see a "progress bar" something i can work towards. Maybe some general buffs i can unlock with challenges or some type of currency similar how the survival mode upgrades work.

sexy woman, handsome men. thats pretty much it. Well, almost.

First the bad,
after clearing the story the only thing you will be doing is getting your meta character out, pray you have a chase item so there is a point in playing this game, keep resetting your level to get stronger and literally run circles all day every day.

the story is pretty boring, gameplay usually repetetive.
every support role gets completely irrelevanted by the fact that the 2 meta characters can clear all content pretty much solo by running circles around enemies. And while being boring it is completely necessary, because if you would grind all those mats without meta characters you would quite possibly loose your mind.

And with mats i primarily mean the aqcuisition mechanic of new weapons and battlesuits to play.
TFDs idea is to put them into gacha items (of course), BUT those things you gonna open are completely f2p. If you pull a blueprint you like, you farm the mats and wait for those thingies to finish building. That all seems largely fine to me so far, if you have patience.

The problem is the gameplay loop for the gacha. It is (in the endgame) a 20 sek go interact with things in a 15m wide circle and kill one miniboss, with a one minute cooldown.
Take the gacha things to a 30sek combat encounter which takes one of four resources which you get from a roughly 60sek combat encounter. It gets boring fast.

But there is also some good,
the warframe-esque module system of upgrades is kinda fun to customize your gameplay through.
Availability of short and long form content in one package is good as well. Sadly dungeons and the group bosses have terrible efficiency to grind new stuff.
Another great thing is the gunplay, it feels snappy and the modules really make a difference. Also the difference in gameplay between characters is refreshing.

The verdict is,
its a technically good game if you dont care much about story, just plaqued by a terrible gameplay loop. And thus i cannot really recommend it as it is now. Except of course you like that kind of gameplay.
It could be pretty good in a year or so though, if they manage to make the gameplay loop more interesting.

Early Access Review
Good game

but,

-extra score on some guns feels kinda bad. Cant tell if its justified tho.

-More details about your scoring (time and score per position/window for example) would be nice.

-I'd like to know more about the performance of my ranklist competitors in the hiscore list.

Cyberdimension refined Neptunia U's gameplay and combined it with the neptunia humor we all know and love and the power of the unreal Engine.

Even if the new shading might need some getting used to but the gorgeous maps and (most) animations make up for it.
Thanks to artist Tsunako, every CG of the game is perfect.

Combat is quite simple in my opinion, one attack button, dash and block/counter. Comboing is done with skills you can unlock, these you can assign to skill groups which you can switch in combat with four slots each.
With Noire for example you could use a skill to charge in, then one to get you target airborne and then finish them off.
This system however isnt optimal for enemys with many HP or high defense like bosses, resulting in spamming your skills and EX mode.
The EX mode btw is a charge that builds up by doing damage, you can release it for dmg boost, defensive benefits, hyped music and a character specific super high dmg skill.

Overall the gameplay is fun and in the end you are playing it because you want to get to that next conversation to laugh your ass off about all the ridiculous characters, jokes and references. Or maybe to learn more about the characters and admire the CGs.

This game is really good, its accurate and shows you the internal workings of guns quite detailed, a very good game for anyone who is interested in gun history and mechanics.

I have revisited the game recently, and the save issues i have complained about have been resolved i think. At least i had some sort of savegame.
So now, this game is a strong recommendation for anyone whos into firearms. Also right now, the lifetime access is 10$, which is a steal.
