Hi.
Before you add me on your friends-list, please comment down below and explain why. Otherwise I'm likely to turn you down.
If I may have accidentally sent another friends request after you rejected me, my apologies. It was an accident. I forgot that I sent you a request. And Steam doesn't keep records of ''rejected friends request'' anywhere as far as I know.

Before I get to the review, I'd like to share my history with this series
Oh boy, Onimusha. Me and this series go way back in the mid- to late-2000s with Onimusha 3 and Dawn of dreams. Later on, tail-end of the 2000s, I finally got a hold of Onimusha 1 and 2 on my ancient PS2.

After Onimusha DoD was released, I thought CAPCOM would follow-up with another Onimusha on the PS3. I’m someone who bought a Playstation 3 for Japanese games - a new ''Zone of Enders''; a new ''Onimusha''; a new ''Breath of Fire'' and what have you. Onimusha on the PS3 ...didn't happen.

During the 7th generation of gaming, a good amount of Japanese developers broke away from SONY’s Playstation-brand and developed games for other platforms - smartphones; Nintendo DS; Nintendo Wii; Xbox360(a little bit) and what have you.

There were some Japanese developers who did follow-up on some of my favorite PS2 games - a new ''Disgaea'', a new ''Metal Gear Solid'' and a new ''Devil May Cry''. ...I would have counted in Final fantasy XIII if it wasn't so ...you know, nothing special. Same goes for Resident Evil 5&6.

Onimusha is pretty much a product of its time for a Playstation 2 game of the 2000s - to show off fancy cutscenes to everyone, to display how powerful the system was at the time; fixed camera; bad English voice acting; almost a copy and paste of Resident Evil (before developers wanted their games to be like GTA, a good amount of developers and publishers wanted their games to be like RE back then.)

About the ‘’ghostwriter-controversy’’:
When I came to the final boss battle of the game, I finally realized that CAPCOM has swapped out the music from the original game with a new soundtrack. This made me very upset, because I loved Onimusha’s OST on the PS2. As it turns out, the alleged ''Japanese Beethoven'' is a fraud. So CAPCOM had to compose new music to avoid any controversy

Onimusha Review

New things that I've noticed

1. You can use the R-stick now ...with no tank controls? Why? Onimusha 1 wasn't developed with free movement in mind :(

2. The controls have been slightly swapped around, so I have to adjust my brain a little bit; I have to forget about how this game worked on the PS2

3. You can now switch between English and Japanese. And if you switch Japanese voice acting, one of the scenes in the game's uncensored.

Thing's I like:

1. Onimusha is back! Hurray!

What I personally disliked:

1. The Bad VA (that's right, RE, you're not the only one)

2. I can't skip cutscenes (this should have been remedied)

3. No native 4K

4. I don't think this is the Genma Version

5. I'm not a fan of the new soundtrack

In conclusion
Please CAPCOM, re-release Onimusha 2, 3 and Dawn of Dreams.

I was playing as a CT, and when the killcam shows me who killed me, a CT kills him, and makes it looks like he's on his way to funky town.
