How is it possible someone with over 800 hours in a game gives it a thumbs down?
I don't think it's a bad game, although I'm quite bored with it right now. My problem with EU4 is the DLC policy, and the fact that it is no way, even at sale, worth its price.

BASE GAME is only worth it at 75% off or if you are going to play with a friend that owns all DLC.
Base game only is very lackluster, especially compared to the game with all DLC. Do not expect to have the same experience as seen on youtube or the one your friend describes if you buy base game only.

So it's simple then? You should buy the game with all DLC. Right?
No. During SALE, the game with DLC (you only need the ones adding actual gameplay) still costs far over 100 euro. Then you get the full game, and you can play it in singleplayer as well, the way it is supposed to be played.

However, if you want to stay up to date, expect to be forced to pay for an overprized DLC every 6 months or so.

If you could get this game, the full experience, at around 50 euros or equivalent, I would definitely recommend it, as it is quite a fun game. 150? Not worth it.

To sum it up: Get the base game at 75% sale if you are really into strategy games or plan on playing with friends, otherwise don't bother, honestly.

Bought it 3 years ago for 25€, installed, played 6 minutes, got bluescreen, uninstalled. Now it's free.

I basically just paid 250€/hour for a bluescreen...

A very well made game for both VR and PC. Really fun, and a great soundtrack.
