It has been a while since i played some classic strategy games beside Settlers 3, Warcraft 3 and AOE - so as you can see, it really has been a while. 
I wanted to see how this genre evolved over time, and Frostpunk is a great example of how immersive and addictive a simple city builder can be. With the weather as your hardest enemy, I really enjoyed the challenge of getting my people through the boss stage called 'storm' and the well written soundtrack builds up the tension perfectly in every part of the game.

It felt strangely stressful, and if you'll make it, it's also very satisfying. 
Especially when you send the kids to the mines and beat up protestors.

I'm not quite sure if i'll continue the game after the main 'story' and play more of the scenarios because they seem to crave a lot of time, imho. Anyhow, I really recommend this game and hope Frostpunk 2 can be a good follow-up. 
Grab it on sale, and you'll have a great experience for at least 20 hours of gaming.
