My favorite side scrolling action rogue lite since dead cells

Decent adventure game with an interesting plot, horror aesthetic sets a good mood about it, puzzles are pretty simple and easy, estimated completion time your first run prolly 5-8 hour range.

Personally I did enjoy my time with this game however I would advise waiting for a sale, and once again I liked it but I dont think it has a very broad market appeal so maybe watch a lets play of the 1st 20 min or so it shouldnt spoil much.

Best parts of diablo 2 and 3 wrapped together with an awesome crafting system that lets you put the proper stats on your item and get the proper values.

this game throws a ton of systems at you and while it does a decent job of explaining them there is a lot of nuance to it and some things arent explained very well very much trial by fire. The more I play the more I learn the more I like this game.

It's persona 4 Golden, the enhanced version of the ps2/ps3 game if you like persona (and you know you do) and you don't want to buy a PSVita to play it this is your only real option, you should take that option.

very similar game structure to castlevania HD with a permanent level up and stat system, you mainly spend your time hunting for better loot drops on higher difficulties of the same levels, theres something around 50ish missions and you have 4 initially playable haracters and 2 unlockable characters, each one plays differently from nimble swift shinobi wgo can dash into targets then pelt them with volleys of attacks at range to warrior who has big charge up smash you in the face attacks and can trhow up a defensive shield to recover party hp and blocka ttacks, the gameplay is repetetive higher difficulties do cahnge enemies and attack patterns but it is a grind to level up and also you are ighting against rng for your loot so expect to run most missions many times looking for the items you want, it overall hasa fun and addictive gameplay loopm single player is an option but this game is primarilly balanced around multiplayer and team play, if this all sounds appealing I highly reccomend this game if not you could probably spend your money better elsewhere.

The 1st thing I would like to state off the bat is this is a very polarizing game, I highly suggest you watch some actual runs or game play footage before purchase as it appeals to a very niche audience which may or may not be for you.

In a very abridged nutshell version this is the game select character select default loadout go into game. you have your side of the grid enemy has theres kill enemy get new cards or skip new cards choose next event rinse wash repeat oh and theres boss battles every stage.

Pros:
1. Lots of different cards that do cool different things.
2. Difficulty is there this game is not easy and your gonna spend atleast the 1st hour just figuring out how to play the game and what your doing but as you figure it out test what works and progress its very satisfying.
3. Lots and lots of unlockables theres 8 unlockable characters each with alternate loadouts and costumes not to mention progression based spells and artifacts the more you play the more cools tuff you can find in future runs.

Cons:
1. tutorial isnt very good theres going to be alot of trial and error.
2. Difficulty if your not a fan of difficult games then you may want to pass.
3. Chaos factor theres so many cards remembering what they all do on the fly in a bullet hell nightmare can be very taxxing.
4. Takes investment to learn this isnt a pick it up and look at me doing cools tuff, I died my 1st run in like 10 minutes.

Final verdict:
If your a hardcore roguelite fan and enjoy situations of mass bullethell and randomized "loot" then there is alot to like its very fun and fast paced once you get acclimated, if this doesnt sound appealing you may want to pass

Buy to play model LCG (look up LCG on fantasy flight games for more info about this business model) curently only 3 factions but there is substantial deck diversity and this only grows as the community grows and meta shifts, if I wetre to summarize in a nutshell id say its 2 lane shadowverse/hearthstone where your hero is an active combat participant.

All the joy o a CCG without the microtransactions, the rules are pretty intuitive and if your familiar with hearthstone and shadowverse youll catch on extremely quick, translation can be a bit wonky but once you understand what means what its easy.

PRO tip if you buy it your 1st run click the gear in the top right, from there you can change language to english
Another issue I found is if your trying to use the chatbox or add a friend ID be in windowed mode as the virtual keyboard will not work in full screen infact it can crash your game
