I lack the words in my vocabulary to describe how I feel about The Witcher 3. That I should be alive at this day and age and be able to experience it fills me with all manor of emotions. And I almost feel sad for those that came before me, those who no longer walks among us, that they were robbed of the sheer wonder that is the Witcher Universe.

Although it has its rough edges here and there, more easily noticeable after a 3rd or 4th playthrough. Some of these preventing you from completing it a 100% (not without some googeling and workarounds, at least). In spite of these shortcomings, I have nothing but love for the game.
The music, the nature, voice acting and the general style of this game make it a gem in my collection. I played the predecessors of the game, I read the books and now I have lived it.

The player's choices have an enormous impact on the way the story is told. After completing the game, you may want to play through it again and make different choices to watch events unfold in a completely different manner. There is so much to do, a lot of side quests with interesting stories. A vast variation of items, collectables and a very well made cardgame. On each playthrough, you fall in love with the story and the people all over again.

I have worked most of my adult life on the sea, so it goes without saying that oceans stir up some emotions. It may seem silly to the average man in the street, but the way water moves in different weather is important to me in any game. The way the light at sea can change before or after a storm is a factor that many games with weather dynamics leave out of their finished product. The Witcher 3 truly has done this well. I sometimes find myself at a cliff or at the edge of a town just taking it all in. Many of the creatures and places in the game are inspired by Northeren European and Scandinavian myths and legends. Some of the mythical creatures and stories you encounter in the game were told to me when I was growing up. This makes it all more familiar to me, as I fight my way through the continent and islands.

If you are into deep stories, light puzzles and amazing scenes and sights. This is one for you. Every time I complete it, I am with a heavy heart that the adventures are over. But after time has passed, I find myself back again.

Thanks for the amazing world of the Witcher.

If I could tilt my thumb of approval slightly sideways, I would. This game has tons of bugs and glitches; things that will force you to restart or make you rage quit.

Repeating quests:
One of the most annoying things about the game is the inability to repeat quests (even on different characters) Once you have completed a quest in single or multiplayer you can not interact with the same quest items in future games (keys and other items, documents and texts still work). The only way to play through serten quests a second time, is by beeing in someone elses group who has not completed the quest.

I played through the quests solo the first time, and then with a couple of times with friends. Some zones were incomplete, the AI would be bugged and there was no loot in lootboxes etc. An area would show missions, collectables and loot (this has been changed a bit now) and you could go through every damn house, many many times, yet no quest was to be found. It caused some of the people I played with to lose interest in the game.

You can create up to 4 characters, this is even a requirement for an achievement (have at least two with different specialities). But since you can only complete the questchain one time, you start your second, third or fourth character in the middle of a high level enemy territory, at level 1, without guns. If you join someone else’s game, you would be unarmed and useless.

Loot:
It is great to run around the world, increasing the quality of your armor, weapons and modifications, and it is partly what made it such a nice adventure for me. To constantly see my character grow in strength and my weapons improve, if anything should be said about this, is that I wish there were even more ways for me to upgrade my items.

Bugs!!!:
- The bots have some issues, from getting stuck in invisible barriers to shuffling backwards or jumping 4 - 5 meters to the side when they changed animation from idle to aggressive. Shooting through walls, aggroing you while you were in at the bottom of a bunker several stories under the ground, and they were above you somewhere outside. Aggroing you across half your view distance, trying to shoot you while you were inside a house or behind a hill, unable to see you at all.

- Constant crashes from the beginning shortly after launch. You are able to attach mods to your scope from scavenging dead bots. If you, however use such a mod while looking at a player, the game instant crashes.

- Usualy when dragging and dropping loot from inventory to boxes or vice versa, the game will crash. Other times it seems to shut down to desktop without a reason at all. Although they have fixed some of these, there are still many random crashes. This is especially annoying when you are in a battle with several bots, and you have wasted a lot of ammo. The way to replenish your ammo would be by looting all the dead bots at your feet, but the random crash will make you lose your progress.

- Falling through the map outside any safehouse into the water under the map, over and over and over, have to force a restart in order to make it work again. So no matter what you were doing you cannot complete it.

Why it’s good:
They have been able to capture a setting or maybe an overall feeling to the world that is extremely pleasing. The sounds, light and various locations makes me want more and more. Aside from the bugs, I take my hat off and say well done! I will continue to support and recommend this game, but know that it will come with some crashes and some strange issues.

It would make a fantastic game if they polish everything up, making it work for everyone without crashes. Enabling players to repeat the main questchain, so players can revisit that feeling of loneliness, wandering among the burning wrecks of cars with bloody handprints.

This is a great game! I have started it up and played it every now and then in the past. Without really getting started. Now that I have completed it, I strongly wish there was more to it. If you are into Exploring and crafting/survival this game is a "must have"! So much to see!
