Age of Empires II was the first PC game I ever played (back in the 2005), so I bought this game for being a lover of it (and because I got it discounted :P ).

What I have to say? It's the same AoE2 HD under a new gorgeus graphic, which is good. But in detail:
- The developers have added few minor gameplay upgrades as gatherer counter, mixed queue, order list, etc; many thing you didn't had before, but once getting used to, it's hard to get back.
- The models, animations are splendid. It feels like the old sprites have take life and the collapsing buildings are satisfing to watch. BUT, I'm here to play, not to make screenshots, so the blur, the "focus", the animated fog effects are quite annoying, BUT there is options to enable/disable them, so no harm done.
- The new civs are interestings, altough I think they still need to be balanced and/or fixed (Cuman Kipchak horde = ggwp).
- The new campaign are wery well made and follows the style of those from African Kingdoms and Rise of Raja, while those came from The Forgotten has been completely reworked: they are less "story" and more "fight", now they fit better with the others, but aren't anymore the ones we played in the HD, this will be a matter of tastes.
- I never been a multiplayer fan, but I have to say the new advanced tutorial helped me to refine my strategies, so it's a very welcome addition.
- Editor. Oh boy! A lot of stuff, eyecandy, new buildings, new triggers... there is a helluva of new things to work with. If you ever made a scenario for the HD, in the DE you will have much more to do.
- Challenge achievements. You think the base campaigns were easy? Try now.
- YOU CAN ROTATE THE FU***NG GATES!!

I really recommend this game for everyone who played/want play Age of Empires II. Even at full price. It's woth it.
