Early Access Review
Desing of this game is really weird, and I can´t really flow with it... What I expected was Diablo mixed with DS3 combat, e.g. open world, lot of loot, lot of builds, lot of variety, lot of freedom. You dont get that here.

Game is weirdly structured, there is big map (like in traditional crpgs, Poe, BG2) you can travel between points of interest (cities, shrines, "FA"-fighting areas). This already disrupts the flow of the game I expected. Everything is too instanced, structured, there is nothing to surprise you and no feeling of agency.
There is NO COMBAT OUTSIDE of "FIGHTING AREA" or random encounters, there is almost nothing to explore except for codex entries and traders, some areas are completely empty and seem to serve no purpose.
There is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of lore and codex entries... and its absolutely pointless, as there is no story actually. You pick kingdom and go become stronk and beat the central BBEG. Anything else doesnt seem to matter, no choices, nothing. Its actually quite annoying after while how much text you are showered with, considering that its mostly useless "fluff"
RPG system is actually really weird too. While you can have a great skill varienty, there is really not much synergies between stuff. You have entire trees of magic skills.. and no stats to support them?
There doesnt seem to be any ranged weapons or magic weapons, which i kinda get as this is supposed to be meele combat game, even meele combat seems to have small variety and bad balance as you after while realise that shields are useless, polearms are just worse version of 2handers and dual wield (as is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ usual) trashes everything with its insane dps... Considering no scaling for magic skills, it seems quite obvious what best build for clearing the game is after like 10 minutes.
I also have real issue with rpg elements as you gain skill/trait points only after first clearing certain number of "Fighting areas". That further makes exploration feel very pointless, as you are simply not gaining any power and ♥♥♥♥, you just have to clear more and more areas to get anything new.

For pros - graphics, sounds are nice, I really like them.
Combat is fine, sometimes feel very clunky and hard to read tho given the perspective and distance from character.
Its just the world, map, rpg elements and encounters that imo need complete redesign, I really hate the idea of predetermined "fighting areas"

This game is absolute gem.
Beautiful world filled with many secrets, AMAZING dungeons with fun little puzzles and themes, great fast progression system allowing for reallly great build versatility and a LOT of playstyles, very nice sounds and great stylized graphics. Also sidequests are sometimes really well made and lot of fun :D
Biggest cons would be not that great main story (but still very passable and enjoyable) and absolutely attrocious voiceover (I really wished Wyanna actually died), but this really doesnt take away from awesome core experience.
What does take away from core experience is bugged hit detection and few other minor bugs, but I hope that will be solved sooner or later.

Also - playing as mage is absolute blast, never before I felt so... "magey", blinking around, teleporting on map, conjuring own food and eventually even flying... so much fun. All that combined with classic blasting of fireballs, chain lightnings, frost novas and tornadoes. :)
This game really does fullfill your "playstyle" fantasy, be it druid, mage, necromancer, bard, paladin, bloodsucking demon, agile archer, stealthy assasin, mighty warrior or anything inbetween...

Is it better than bloodborne, DS3 or Sekiro?

Nah... But still amazing game well worthy of your time and money.

I just wish it was smaller, more compact with less repetition and less ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ inputreading/attackdelaying bosses

Great little game, interesting mechanics with varied enemies, huge amount of skill combinations and playstyles and really sad and touching story.

Bit on the short side - but atleast there is no filler content.

After finishing the main story part (with outro credits) I was amazed, super excited, bit teary, downloaded soundtrack to all my devices and accidentally bought every game by Supergiant games.

Its really one of the kind, that kind when extreme passion meets with masterful competence and years of experience, so absolute masterpiece can be born.

I have not found a SINGLE thing I would criticize about this game. I tried.

Lovely little rogue-like even for people who don´t like rogue-like games. Nice story, swift pacing, simple yet fun combat and great variety of characters.

Its one of those 10/10 games... And its even better now with mods and longtime support from devs.
