Came into this one with very low expectations as I only grabbed it alongside New Order, figured 3 bucks was pretty cheap, and boy did I get some bang for my buck.

Like New Order this one is pretty short, maybe even more so, but it still felt like a fully fledged game to me. Campaign will last you about 8 hours if you barrel through, but if you're enjoying butchering Nazis you can easily double that play time with challenges, nightmare retro levels and gold hunting.

Gameplay felt even more like raw unadulterated fun, story makes for a neat prequel, was nice to get a few references to the occult, something the New Order totally well... occulted.

Still think it could have been a bit more fleshed out with some more cutscenes and "plot" but overall it was a great experience and a pleasant surprise.

Tremendous value when picked up alongside New Order during sale.

Heart-warming Nazi-slaughtering fun for all the family. Ages nein and above.

Set in a dystopian past/future filled with scary mechs and quirky details, this game takes you on a desperate quest to overthrow the Nazi's grip on the planet as a chad resistance fighter terrorist.

Along the way you'll enjoy some beautifully dark vistas of this alternate reality as well as juicy gameplay with good movement, dual-wielding, a perk system and even rudimentary stealth mechanics with satisfying takedowns. All of this to a pretty baller soundtrack.

While nothing ground-breaking, the plot was good enough to keep me engaged and butchering Nazis till the end. It takes you to places all over the world (and beyond) and does a great job of showcasing the horrors of totalitarian regimes through a host of small details scattered around levels, rewarding players for exploration with pieces of lore. It does so without taking itself too seriously and with a humorous touch which is to be appreciated. All of this with a little bit of cringey romance sprinkled on top made for quite a rewarding journey.

Game itself is fairly easy. In fact even on the highest difficulty the only real threat you'll encounter are those "heavy-hitter" enemies that can kill you very fast if you're not careful, and maybe the final boss fight but otherwise it's all pretty much a walk in the park once you understand how they function. This wasn't a problem for me as I enjoy feeling overpowered in video games but if you're looking for an actual challenge you'll probably be disappointed.

Another thing to note about this game is that it's quite short with only 16 missions, some of which are themselves very short. Two timelines, collectibles and achievements make for some replayability but even with those you probably won't get more than 20-30 hours out of this game. Again not necessarily a downside, especially at this price.

Overall an excellent game if you're looking for some laid-back FPS single-player mayhem with an entertaining plot. Don't really have anything negative to say about it, in fact I heartily recommend it.

Time to get started on that helmet collection!

Out of all the puzzle games I've played, this is one of the most relaxing and satisfying at the same time.
Excellent value for the price. I recommend buying the whole collection.

- No guesswork involved: each puzzle can be entirely solved through deduction alone, with zero mistakes.

- Combines various different ways to signify presence of blue cells, keeping it interesting.

- Just love the sound effects. Simple yet efficient, they really add to the relaxing atmosphere of the game and the satisfaction of solving each single cell of the puzzle.

- Perfect game to fire up when you only have 5 minutes, always need more of those.

- Easy 100% achievements.

- Infinite replayability thanks to randomly generated puzzles that somehow always work.

This is more of a work of art than a mere video game really.

If you can afford to buy art then yes, buy it as soon as possible, this is not an experience you want to miss out on.

But while this game is as close to perfection as it gets, don't expect any kind of replay value out of it. As such given the price it would be a bad investment if you're only just starting to collect games and only have a few in your library. If you already have all the games you need, I'd recommend buying it on sale. Or if money is no issue for you, buy it now.

Most importantly don't do the same mistake I did and wait a year after you've bought it to actually play it...

This game isn't particularly bad in any significant way but it isn't particularly good in any significant way either so why play it at all?

My main motivation in buying this game was to play in the LOTR universe but all I got was a lame Gotham-like Mordor filled with randomly generated orcs. Doesn't even look cool just very bland.

I love RPGs but here the story is very thin and generic, character customisation is non-existent, loot is extremely limited, and gameplay is somewhat dull and repetitive.

It all feels a bit soulless, which is ironic because you're playing as a ghost.

I do not regret wasting two hours of my life making that temple spotless. As a matter of fact I took great pride in it.

If cleaning blood and gore was that fun in real life we would have a problem because people would murder each other en masse just for the sake of getting to clean up afterwards.

A very interesting and innovative concept, unfortunately quite amateurish in its execution.

The actors weren't exactly bad, but they weren't good enough to make you forget you're watching people pretending. Doesn't mean it can't be entertaining, just not very immersive.

I appreciate the fact that the developers most likely had to make do with very little financial means, so it would be unfair to hold this production to any professional standards of movie-making, and I am admiring of all the ingenuity they put into it, however this does mean a very low production value with extremely poor to non-existent special effects which, given the theme they picked, is yet another barrier to player immersion.

As for the plot, again we have an intriguing concept, but it could have been explored much further and in the end it feels like it was a bit phoned in. I understand that having multiple choices and endings is the whole point of this game, but I found the end-result to be very short and a bit disappointing. One play-through lasted me 20-30 minutes and at the end I didn't feel at all motivated to try again with different choices.

Also while the quirky humour and overall lightness of the tone can be appreciated, it all felt a bit... safe. Not exactly my kind of vibe but that's more personal.

In the end I do not regret my purchase and I applaud the creators for their innovation and obvious enthusiasm, however I cannot in good conscience recommend this as a video game when watching someone else play it would probably be just as fun if not more.

I certainly hope to see more games explore and expand this concept in the future, as I see great entertainment potential in it.

A cute and relaxing exploration game with beautiful visuals and an amazing original soundtrack.
Makes for a very short but memorable experience.

This lazy console port isn't worth the ridiculous amount of space it will take up on your hard drive.

It completely fails to deliver the scares. It looks awful every step of the way. The monsters come off as unintentionally funny rather than actually scary.

The controls are a clunky and awkward mess, and the camera clearly isn't there to serve you. The aiming with the revolver is very wonky which I could get behind if the melee option wasn't even worse, making stealth kills the only reliable way to take down basic mobs once you inevitably run out of ammo, which given the sluggish speed of the character when crouched makes for excruciatingly slow, tedious gameplay.

No manual saves in this context and with your survival being dependent more on your knowledge of the level than skill alone means you will most likely spend more time redoing stuff you've already done rather than moving forward in the game.

Ultimately I think the main issue with this game is that it tries to combine a classic horror game experience where you feel powerless with a more active fighting playstyle. In doing so it fails at both, when it could have been a much better game had it just picked a lane and stuck with it.

In conclusion this game is at least playable but simply wasn't a fun, scary or rewarding experience for me at any point and as such wouldn't consider it worth my time.

Oh and did I forget to mention the black bars?
