The only strategic game I play on steam. As a Kickstarter backer, my opinion is somewhat beholden to the money I've given to the project. That being said, Armello had one of the fastest Kickstarter turnaround times I've ever seen. The proof is in the pudding: Armello is one of the most beautiful games available on Steam, with a strong sense of artistic self. Its parts create an ideal whole.

With over 100 cards and a total of 12 playable heroes (4 during the Beta, at least 4 more at launch Sept. 1st 2015, plus 4 additional ones for backers and eventually, late adopters) there is enough variety to keep you coming back for more, to see how each game plays out. Randomized gameboards and multiplayer support only further this. The additions of quests and storyline are icing on the cake, and I expect the full release to be even richer in terms of how the story is told. I've taken to playing the game just to unwind; the mix of beautiful art and serene, appropriate music is enough to please the senses for every moment you play.

In short, you owe it to yourself to experience the world of Armello, which in itself is so compelling that even without the exemplary game system it would serve as the basis for a series of best-selling fiction.
