This is easily one of my favorite games, and my favorite FPS. The gun play is smooth, the fights are clean, and the pacing is surprisingly solid even though there's mostly breach load and bolt/lever/single action firearms. The biggest issue in the past has been the network, especially with reconnecting to a match. It can take upwards of 10-15 min at times, and even then I would easily pay $50 for this game. The only reason I have not purchased all the DLC is because the skin system is very rigid and I can only use a skin on a firearm if it was released for said firearm, regardless how similar it is to other models in it's "family".

That being said, I cannot recommend Hunt, and that's purely due to the new UI. The most recent update brings a beautiful map on an updated engine. My friends and I are loving all the nooks and crannies the Gulch has for us to discover. The bumbling and stumbling of learning a new map is always a great experience in Hunt because Crytek puts time and effort into their maps. Other parts of the game don't get that level of TLC, and the players seem to have a good bit of influence on that. As far as I have seen, the dev interacts with the Hunt community as a whole, but they listen to the console players more than anyone, and this update is no exception. In the past we had things like explosives and dual wields get neutered because the majority of console users rely on aim-assist, so naturally AoE and high fire rate are/were king. For this update the dev's decided to really commit to console and design the entirety of their UI for them. I refuse to believe anyone at Crytek even attempted to use the new UI on PC. If they did and didn't report how utterly terrible it is, they need to find work elsewhere and Crytek needs to develop some semblance of standards for new hires. It feels like im playing an RTS just to get a hunter kitted out, and that's Ignoring the several bugs we've found.

I hope this example clarifies the situation well enough since there's too many shortcomings to name them all here: It takes three clicks to exit the game. Hitting "Exit" the first time brings up a separate pop-up menu to confirm, which is perfectly fine, but then you have to confirm the confirmation on a third menu. Someone was paid to make that and never questioned it. Then they went on and developed the rest of the UI like that. Before the update we were able to load out our hunters and see the kit alongside the items, now its a separate window/screen. Before the update I could see what my friends were taking in-game by clicking on their hunter, now there's a separate pop-up screen that closes if anyone alters their kit. Before the update I thought Crytek was somewhat capable outside the world of networking, now I can only question what they are capable of doing right besides maps considering even a slightly decent and usable UI is not a guarantee.

Ultimately they put so much effort into making this new UI for consoles, adding in sub-menu after sub-menu that consoles love so much, that It's killed my desire to interact with the lobby in any way. I still love the game. I just don't like anything outside the match because It's made entirely for consoles. I don't know if there's somehow that many more players on consoles vs PC, or if that's their major cash cow, but Crytek is either incapable of testing something as integral as their UI, or it's functioning as intended and they do not care to even consider PC in their dev efforts. Regardless what it is, you can add the most beautiful and detailed maps in the world, it does not help if you have your sleep deprived "Idea Man" of an intern that hasn't touched a game since PS3, design the UI.

Myself and many other players that love Hunt truly hope Crytek can figure out how to get a competent team working on the next iteration of the UI. I wish them the best of luck! I encourage everyone else to do so as well, they're gonna need it.

Short of it:
Do not purchase this game unless you intend to start a single player world, and only ever play in that single player world or with other people on your own world. I would not recommend supporting these dev's in any way, form, or fashion as minimal effort is not worth $30. *MAYBE* $5, and that's if you really want to play this game. Not trying to be rude, but for as great as the game looks, It's painfully obvious that the dev's put all their effort into making a beautiful world and damn near stopped there. The game feels like it was designed by a team full of artist and they panic hired a programmer and project manager last minute because they realized the ♥♥♥♥ has to function, even if it's on a technicality alone.

----------------------------------------------------

Heads up:
To anyone that purchases the game to play with others: For the love of god do NOT choose black as your main color unless you and your friends are looking for an all out ♥♥♥♥ show. The radar is an opaque dark green/red and you gotta hunt down a fuzzy black dot on screen if they get downed. Just about all armor so far seems to make them blend in with enemy units/NPC's. Usually funny, but it becomes a legitimate secondary concern having to keep tabs on em in difficult areas.

----------------------------------------------------

Rant:
The dev's did not even attempt to implement any form of proper parity between multiplayer and single player saves unless you are hosting your own world. Now this is not typically that big of an issue in my book. At worst it means i am a higher level blazing through the earlier parts of the game and collecting resources, no big deal. However, when you combine that with this games complete lack of any QA or dev involved play testing, it becomes unplayable.

After playing with friends on one of their worlds, I decided to run through mine solo. An early mission "Mutual Dependencies: Kill the Fullchromes" was all I had for main missions, and it lacked any objectives. There was no way to advance, nor complete this. It took me running around for two hours trying (and typically failing) to complete or even start several side missions, just for the main mission to gain an objective. When approaching the area there are add's, but no Fullchromes. I worked through community and online recommendations. No dice. This same situation persisted through side missions as well. The only "solution" is to have a multiplayer character and pray whoever you join is around your level, and a separate single player character that may or may not be able to hop to other peoples world saves without ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ up their own.

While that's the biggest issue as it prevents any and all game progression, As for some other issues that were not one off's:
- Desync between host causing invisible enemies.
- Desync with players to where they are moving independently from what everyone sees in-game.
- Random instances where your character is locked in place around shop menu's.
- Enemies phasing through any and all low hanging objects that you, the player, have to slowly crawl through.
- Abilities going missing at random and you having to re-purchase or find them.
- Skin inventory deleting itself every time you leave a session, whether single or multi. Thankfully, you retain your currently applied skin on your guns. Just dont mess with it!
- Hackable objects appearing as different hack levels ("ICE") between the host and players.
- Randomly falling through the world and sitting there until you leave, or your friends pull you into a mission area.
- Normal chests appearing closed and once interactable in previous sessions are randomly deemed non-interactable.

The real cherry on top is the fact that the various game halting bugs I ran into have been present since launch. I see people bringing these issues and much more to the community's and the dev's attention with little or no acknowledgement. Looking through patch notes the dev's are more willing to fix the occasional CTD bug when doing some hyper specific task, but have little to no input on the not too uncommon game halting bugs that prevent you from any significant progression whatsoever. Hey, as long as people buy the game I guess!

Hopefully everyone else has the exact opposite experience I did. Best of luck!

Early Access Review
The game crashes at launch. I don't even get a logo or audio, just a black screen. Ive attempted various troubleshooting over several hours, none of which have worked in the slightest. Looking at several forums and posts from the dev team themselves, this has been going on for years and they dont care to look into it. You should not have to fix something so basic after spending money on a game. I understand its in early access, but being able to at least boot the game up is ever so slightly important. Ill check on it in the future to see if the devs figured out the basics. Shame too, looks like fun...

Some friends and I wanted to try out the game on the free weekend, but apparently "weekend" is something that only lasts halfway through Sunday. Duly noted. I hope to try it out in the future as others seem to like the game.

From someone that has played for a few hours, Warframe is a fun 3rd person shooter that incorporates parkour and melee as core features. Pros, Cons, Middle Ground, and Beginners Info are below.

Pros:
-Wide selection of weapons and Frames/characters, both ranged and melee. Various combinations allow just about any player to do what they want and still help the team.
-Community is great. Many people assist new players regularly. "Guides of the Lotus" are official players appointed by DE(the dev) to assist others with gameplay, not customer support matters. They should have a purple name in chat.
-Parkour allows for quick movement, even on units that are slow and clunky. Allows tanks and supports to keep up with quicker, lighter frames.
-True Free to Play. Everything is available to everyone, omitting the founder packs, beta items, and items removed from market. Overall, very few are unavailable. The premium currency (Platinum) is tradable and besides buying slots for weapons/companions /Frames, you can buy catalysts and forma(Used to boost capacity, but can be found on alerts/special missions), and weapon/Frame/companions that you can already trade/farm to get. Once you have your desired Frames and weapons, slots are less of a worry and you can use the Plat to trade players for anything else you may need that’s not available in the market, ranging from mod's to parts. Also, Fashion-Frame if you really want to hit the true end-game!
-Login rewards with credit, experience, and resource boosts, rare materials, Frame and weapon blueprints, Platinum discounts(Buying plat), and other goodies are daily login rewards. On top of these, there are milestone rewards. These are rewards given for logging in ‘X’ amount of days (Does not need to be consecutive).

Con's
-The grind. If you dislike this, you are most likely not going to find this game entertaining for too long. If you've played any other MMO for an extensive period of time, the grind should not feel too bad compared to the usual "find this" or "Kill that" in MMORPG's.
-Lack of tutorials. There are few in-game tutorials that completely sum up the function they are explaining. If you have trouble grasping or working out problems with little to no in-depth info, this may be an issue. However, as I stated earlier, the community is usually happy to help and there are guides available through Steam and online.
-No definite end-game. If you like to play something and be completely done with it, this is not present here unless you consider the quests and their individual completions, but not the overall game itself.
-Weapons, frames, and companions will take time to build/craft/mature. Some dislike waiting and there is an option to 'rush' the item (Not clan research) using Platinum, the premium currency. However, there are some that do not require build times and they can be found in the market.
-Conclave/PVP. The game modes are fairly fun, but those that have played for a bit do have a small advantage as they have the mods and load-outs that are most effective (Bit different from person to person). If you enjoy PVP, just stick with it and you should be able to get on par with those that have been playing a while.

Middle Ground:
-The max lvl enemy units you face for the dev experience (Things the dev's setup to be played and completed as a standard. Not the player goals of meeting certain requirements for niche roles and missions. These are more strict, lengthy and experienced.) are not too difficult if you are properly equipped, even when solo on most missions. They have revived "Endless" mission types. For a time it was not worth the time as the rewards were a one off, but now you can keep the ball rolling as long as you have a 'relic' to use. Basically a loot box that drops as mission rewards, there are dozens of types that drop various things.

For new players:
-Do not worry about not having much variety of weapons and Frames early on, you need to level up what you have/can get first. Regardless of how much you dislike something, do not sell it/us it for crafting till it is at max rank(Level 30) as this will help you MR(Mastery Rank, overall player level). A MR of 8 will open up just about all weapons and frames to you, and there are a few additional weapons along the way to MR 13 or so that can be unlocked.
-Upgrade mods when you can. Unless you have to save your Endo(Fusion/upgrade material), upgrade mods like HP, Shields, and damage as much as possible. These are fairly basic and you will use them with just about any Frame/weapon/companion available (in their respective category’s OFC).
-Discover and complete planet nodes. Go through as many missions as possible, complete nodes and the requirements for junctions (Routes to other planets) and in turn, complete junctions to open more nodes. The more of the star map you have opened and completed the better. This will allow you more coverage of the map for special alerts/invasions/events and you will not have to rely on 'Taxis' from other players as much, if at all. Each node also provides MR experience.
-Get to MR 3 and join a syndicate. These factions will provide sigils (Only one can be in use) which you can attach to your frame to gain favor points with that faction. With this favor gained, you can purchase exclusive weapons, gear, mods and attachments.
-Buy weapons from the market that do not require building times and level them fully. “MK1” weapons as well as the Lato, Lex, Aklato, Braton, and Strun should all be available for credits alone, no build times required. Just type their names into the search bar in the upper left corner of the market window in-game. These are a good way to test out certain types of weapons and get some easy experience.
-Worry about slots for Frames, weapons, and companions before you worry about buying things for plat from the market. Unless you want to OFC. This is just a recommendation for those that don’t want to buy Platinum off the bat, and would rather test the waters.
-Play with others. You will get higher spawn rates, more loot and credit drops, more experience, and you will learn how to work with other frames/people and be more effective overall. This will help you level faster and experience more of the game. Solo play is great, but will be slower.
-Anytime you see an alert for “Orokin Catalyst, Reactor”, “Forma”, ”Exilus Adapter” blueprints or whole, do them. They are not too common and it saves you Plat/currency by not buying them. Also, you may not see them if you have not unlocked that node/portion of the star chart, sometimes people will advertise a “Taxi” to the mission for the rewards. This just means they go to the location and bring those that can’t normally reach it.
-The Wiki has a vast amount of information involving this game. Anything from drop locations and item requirements to weaknesses and damage calculations is available. For the most part, this information can be found in the 'Codex' in-game, but the Wiki is just faster, easier to navigate, and more in-depth.
-After your Frames and weapons lvl a bit and you have collected some mods, look into moding and what factions are weak to certain damage types. This info is easily accessible via the wiki via the “Damage 2.0” page. Moding properly helps greatly.
-Do not sell mods. If you ever need to get rid of some, turn them into Endo as credits are easy to come by. There are usually credit farming groups in “Recruit”(Rec) chat.
-Use Rec chat. There are groups for anything from credit and materials farming to specific part farms. Watch it to see if what you need is available or make a post stating what you are looking for (LF) or hosting (H). This helps resource and credit gathering greatly.

Overall, Warframe is a fun game if you don’t mind the repetition, farming, and grinding. It has a great community and everyone has the opportunity to be on par with players that have been around for years. Best of luck and have fun!
