Easy GOTY, a level of polish not normally seen.

Good game

Verdict: Pick it up for 5 bucks or less, 15 dollars is too high for amount of content
Positives
-Very fun RPS style combat with a decent learning curve to optimize k/d of units
-combat looks and sounds insanely good
-very nice score that sets the mood
-personally like the aesthetic

Negatives
-Archers require lots of micromanagement to get the most out of them, wish they would auto target unshielded units; better off taking more sword units tbh
-UI issues
1. Items placed on commanders cannot be removed or replaced, better not misclick
2. No way of seeing how many coins an island will net you other than guessing based on number and size of buildings
-At 3 hours played I struggle coming up with additional reasons to play, there aren't anymore surprises in store

Things that would improve experience:
1.Enemy unit types that your archers can counter
2.additional items for commanders
3.different upgrade paths for commanders rather than just more health and damage
4.a way of seeing what sorts of enemy types you will face on an island, bringing archers only to face exclusively shield bearing infantry feels like a waste to the point where I dont make any archers

Fantastic game with depth enough to sink days on end into without getting bored. A management sim where taking control of a colony shows how your own bad luck, combined with poor desicions, will result in your favourite colonists getting an arm amputated and in need of a liver transplant. Which of course can be harvested from the prisoners you took from your latest conquest. After you have taken care of your colonist you can sacrifice the rest to cthulu in the hope of growing additional tentacles throught the colony to make more productive citizens.

I should start out by saying that I know nothing about formula one except for the cars go really fast and have engines. I purchased this game at 8 began playing at 11 and didnt stop until 6 the next morning. This game is good and definitely worth the sale price of $17. Admitedly this game wont be for everyone but if you love fm or other games where you make micromanage in the background to see results played out for you in the foreground you should play this game.

One of the most tactically challenging games on the market. The goal is to kill a hydra before it grows to many heads... very interesting game mechanics. Bit of a learning curve as well as a well of text for a tutorial, but all tooltips explain game elements nicely.
