This game is honestly one of my favorite games of all time. Keep in mind the fact that I like history more than the average person, and I love this kind of game. If you like constant action, it might not be the best choice. But the amazing thing about this game is that it has the ability to make you amazing with some of the best traits, then you have a daughter that is an imbecile, ugly, club-footed, and has a hunchback. It is capable of keeping you interested and constantly interacting with one or more features in the game. For example, one play through I started as a count in Ireland, which in the game is probably the easiest spot to start for beginners (Not much happens so you have time to adjust things and learn the game to a point where you are comfortable). As this count in Ireland, I expanded my one county into a duchy, which is an even greater title and provided me with a lot of happiness and wealth. But then, my half-brother decided to call a revolt, saying he should be in control of the duchy. I went to war and lost, and he ended up throwing me in the darkest deepest dungeon possible (I still kept one county, which I was suprised about, seeing as he wanted to kill me) When in this dungeon, I contracted typhoid fever, and my brother decided to put me on house arrest. My youngest son randomly broke me out, and I went back to my county. I had married off my daughters, and at the time my allies couldn't help with the revolt my brother called on me. So I decided enough was enough, and declared war. Scotland, Mercia, and Wessex came down with their armies (Which to me at the time was a very huge amount of men) And we decimated my brother. I regained my throne, and began raising troops. I took my army to war against the rest of the single counties, seeing as I had lost a large amount of my life to the dungeon. I took enough land (80% of the Kingdom of Ireland) to create the kingdom. As soon as I made it, I passed away. My oldest son took over the majority of my kingdom, while the duchy went to my youngest (Still in the same country). Being a new character (My oldest son) I decided it was time to expand the kingdom I had made. I fought until I reached scotland, killed my sister to end the alliance, and then declared war and took it. I had so much power, that I wanted to make the Empire of Britannia to match how I felt. I did exactly that, and became the Emperor. However, after some time of ruling the Empire, a foreign country wanted my land, so we went to war. I had over half the amount of troops he had (At least I thought I did) and I felt extremely confident I was going to prevail. Little did I know that the Emperor of the HRE didn't like me. I didn't know the reason, until I saw that he was the previous king of Scotland, and his father was the Emperor of the HRE before me. So now I was facing a 10k+ army included with the 4k coming from another country. They killed my army instantly, all of my land was sieged and burnt, and my children and siblings were all arrested and died from disease. I had nothing after so long that I actually felt a real anger building. It was the first time in a long time a game had brought emotion so real into my heart. That is when I realized how good this game was. It is so amazing, it is able to upset you, but at the same time bring happiness and satisfaction when you destroy your enemies. You can call Jihads as the Caliph of Islam, you can join crusades for the holy sites in the world, you can rule or be ruled. So many opportunities in this game, and all of them bring good or bad feelings. Oh, and about my story, my character ended up being excommunicated by the pope, and I was assassinated.

This game took the one thing that I loved most away from me because I wasn't ranked 3. ♥♥♥♥ this game, it is a piece of trash.

UPDATE: I came back to it YEARS later. I am no longer angry, I enjoy this game a lot and have nothing bad to say aside from the fact that I suck at it. Fun times
