The Park is a spooky "walking simulator" style game that emphasises mood and lore over gameplay and longevity. Originally started as a Funcom tech demo, it's important to know going into it that it's only maybe 90min or so long and is essestially you just going through scripted motions.

That said, Funcom is always good at layering the mood on nicely and while I found the first half of the story to be slow and a bit "by the numbers" it picks up nicely in the second half. The first half also presented me with a few stuttering frame-rates at points as well, but this too disappeared after the half-way point.

I am a player of The Secret World for full disclosure so I may have gone into this with a bit more foreknowledge on The Park, and recognized some things in-game that people that don't play the MMO will not know, but I don't think you need to be at all familiar with TSW lore to enjoy it. Though the ending will make a bit less sense...

I'd give it a 7.5/10. Worth the $10. Probably a fun one to stream.
