Like many I pre-ordered the game after years of waiting and anticipation for the launch. However, like many I felt that the game at launch did not live up to the expectations we all collectively placed upon it. This is not to say the game was horrible, even with poor optimization and lacking features i sunk roughly 60 hours into the game before abandoning it. During that time I tested all 3 character archetypes and got lost within the world of the game, all the wile never completing the story.

Now like the growing flood of players I have returned after watching Cyberpunk Edgerunners, feeling reinvigorated and filled with a desire to get lost in Night City all over again. The steady stream of updates the developers have been providing has done nothing but to strengthen the core game play as well simultaneously help optimize for smoother frame rates. Reminiscent No Man's Sky.

Since returning i have sunk another 31 hours into the game (creating a new character due to patches making my old build usless), at almost 100 hours i still have yet to complete the main story. I find my self getting lost day after day in the world of a game that checks off all the wickets for what i want and expect a single player RPG to provide.

For Old players I would say now is the perfect time to return. For New players I would say don't let the rough launch and the history of this game prevent you from experiencing something truly incredible. Lastly I leave you with the words of Johnny silverhand. "Swap meat for chrome, live a BD fantasy, whatever, but at the end of it all, it's the code you live by that defines who you are. "

Had to quit found it to addictive, between the time i spent on PC and the 116 hours on Xbox.

Between the Xbox 360, Xbox one, PS3, PS4, and the PC i have put about 500 hours into all 3 games. I can say that not now nor will ever be tired of the Borderlands franchise. You will live with regret if you do not at least play through this game a couple dozen times.
