Absolutely stunning game - visually and otherwise. I don't write game reviews that often even though I've been gaming for some time now (8 years on steam alone) but I felt this game in particular deserved an additional honest good review.

I write this review after just completing the game and watching all of the additional content about the behind-the-scenes work on the game. Considering I haven't done that with any game I have ever played should tell you something about this game.

If you are looking for an action packed God of War video game, Senua's Sacrifice is not for you. While there are some elements that felt slightly God of War-y, that is not what this game is about nor should it be the focus as it is not what the story tells or what the developer wanted to tell. The game is an intriguing and exciting way to allow those able-bodied and minded to experience a little bit of what living with psychosis looks like through a tale of a Celtic warrior. It is a stunningly beautiful idea and Ninja Theory executes it extremely well. I have always been a first person shooter, little bit of rpg, and little bit of RTS type of gamer, but this game was something I thoroughly enjoyed as it provided not only a satisfying gaming experience, but it taught me a different perspective of the real world.

The game is a lot of taking in the environment, solving puzzles, listening to stories, with a little bit of dark souls styled combat sprinkled in. When I first bought the game I was very nervous about this as, once again, this was about the opposite of the games I usually play. However, as I have stated and will continue to state, it was a fantastic find!

Graphically the game is stunning and the camera's cinematic panning and style makes it feel as though I'm watching an interactive movie (it's that good!). I also loved how simple the controls were and how clean the screen was as there is not a single thing on the player's HUD which at first I was worried about but ended up loving since the controls were so intuitive.

Some puzzles and combat got slightly repetitive at times, but that's only because I played just about the whole game in one sitting because I was so immersed. The ending combat sequence made up for any moment that felt repetitive in the game!

Overall great game Ninja Theory and I hope you come out with more games! My only complaint is that I wanted to keep playing!
