Great game. Easy 200 hours of fun with vanila game and then another 400 hours with mods

This feels like game made in 2012 with a bunch of free assets cobbled together without any actual gameplay or even good basic mechanics like inventory management

So the so called "1.0" is here XD . Just out of curiosity i gave it a shot to be fair to it.

So the combat got marginaly better and is still clunky and feels unrewarding with zombies still having those stupid old animations that make them wobble in random directions for no other reason than to annoy player

Graphics got slightly better with some rework here and there how ever if you are not inside a building or town in general then rest of the world looks like crap with 95% of it being empty and devoid of anything interesting with bunch of trash resources scattered on the ground here and there randomly

Ok but what about the most important part of main gameplay?
This is a sandbox zombie survival game but if you just want to "survive" then there is basically 0 Challange even on the highest difficulties.
Food is easy enough to come by past the early game that it is of no concer later on in the game.
As for the horde night once you realize you just have to build stone cube to hide in with narrow opening in the front to attack through then the supposed "challenge" that is literally the title of the game becomes glorified free XP farm where all you have to do is hold down M1 key for 10 minutes straight and watch your character stab mindless zombies that spawn out of nowhere and line up for you to bash them in the head with weapon of your choosing.

As for the AI itself it is very clearly more A than I with zombies and monsters often either geting stuck for no apparent reason or beelining straight towards you through convoluted corridors.

As for the late game... there is no late game. once you get strongest armor and weapons there is nothing to strive for only more of early game slop with zombies geting scaled to match your power so you dont oneshot everything in your way.

If you can not create your own challenges and come up with things to do on your own then this game offers no interesting problems for you to solve.

The only redeeming thing about this game are quests where you venture into interesting new places all over the map and explore them while looking for loot. This is honestly the only thing that is done somewhat OK and will keep you busy for a few evenings untill you get bored of this uninspired repetitive gameplay.

I wanted to buy this game for a while now and thanks to whatever higher being out there i forgot about this game untill it got released for 5 day trial week. After sinking deacent amount of hours in this game i can tell you right away that this game is really great BUT it is plagued by 2 big problems:

-NR1 The ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ late game lag is unbearable. If you play on anything larger than "medium" map which feels kinda small you WILL lag in the late game. This is caused by the poor optymization of pathfinding for the AI and other systems in the game that get worse as the activity in the galaxy increases
-Nr2 The DLC policy. The base game is plenty of fun on its own but gods why every feature that should be in the base game must be paywalled by the dlc that costs half as much as the base game? It would have been fine if the DlC's added a lot but There will be plenty of times when you feel like something minor is missing from the base game and sure enough there is a dlc for it....

Now if you don't mind having to play on standard or smaller settings to avoid lags and don't mind having to pay more for the DLC's to make the game full then by all means buy it especially if it is on sale and you have money to spend
but i would NOT recommend it for its full price

Great game with a boss fight that will make you lose your sanity the first few times you manage to get to it.

There is no other game like Rimworld. I have been playing it since it was in alpha 4 in the middle of 2014 and boy did it come a long way. Imagine that it was already super fun to play in that early alpha 4 build and almost every next alpha build introduced something interesting to the game giving even more posibilites and fun than the previous one. Now it has reached stage of 1.0 after like 17 Alpha builds and it is now a compleat game that is going to easily provide you with AT LEAST over 250 hours of quality gameplay (not counting the modding community that can easily double that ammount). If you are waiting for it to go on sale you might never see that day so dont wait and get it right now you wont regret it. worth every penny.

This game went from 100 to 0 over the last few years. It got gradualy dumbed down to the point where most mechanics are super shallow and there are no interesting strategies. 95% of veterans got outraged by direction this game is headed and left a while ago. Development of this game after years 2014/15 is just soulcrushing pile of mistakes and bad ideas for any fan that played it from the start and genuinly enjoyed it. It can still be fun at times if you are new to the game (maybe) but dont expect much at this point it is just another medicore arcade shoter.
TLDR
Game is just a shell of what it could be
Devs made tons of bad decisions regarding the game's development
you could probably write 1000 words about what is wrong with this game but what is the point.

Cheaters everywhere and valve does nothing to combat them
They are only interested in making money out of skins
