Not very far in but the game already feels very awkward.
The body slider instead of just body type, the abomination of a default hairstyle and most of the hairstyles just looks awkward on the character. Separate hair and eyebrow sliders without a button to link them or exact input. Oh and the left button to rotate the character in character creation but the right button backs you out, that is just awkward button mapping. Then while in the game the tutorial is already awkward and the sound balancing on the voice acting is subpar making it less pleasant to listen to. Other button mapping awkwardness. When harvesting the right button backing you out when in so many games you use that button to rotate is specifically very annoying.

I think i am going to stop writing more im at the end of my first day and oh boy are there things that would make me not recommend it, does these developers not know anything about standard practice button mapping? I have found more things that annoy me and certainly will find even more but by now anyone that has read this far should get the point, this game is awkward.

Fun enough, not the most smooth and the true ending/vision is a bit underwhelming. So decent but not more than that.

Such a great metroidvania. I just had so much fun with this game, it really scratches that metroidvania itch with a great map that feels natural to traverse.

Interesting mechanics and nice enough story even if a bit clunky of a game.

Great fun. Jump, slam and smash in a world that is fun and doesn't take itself to serious.

The humor is interesting, the game plays fine and things come together well. The endings feels a bit strange and not especially rewarding but it is in style with the storytelling so i suppose it is not a big issue.

Don't really like when you get scored for combat while playing the story, prefer that to only be in modes specifically for that. Disruptive stressful and annoying when you don't get the highest scores especially if it is tied to things such as rewards or achievements. Good game otherwise but it is just a thing i don't agree with enough to immediately give it a negative review.

It was fun to play however
I can see the game playing just as well if not being even more fun without the calendar and day/evening system.
The approval rating should have more effect and not be mostly locked to the story.
You can't debate the big bad guy in any meaningful way that has any effect besides intentionally getting bad endings.

Even if old by now and has its flaws it is a good game and pleasant to play. Nothing truly wrong with it except the disappointment of the true ending not having any payoff since no sequel was or will ever be made.

The game feels underbaked and thrown together. The brewing and cooking proffessions have a completely different pace of progression than the rest of the professions. Crafted items feels superficial since they just sell for money. The townspeople feel superficial both in writing and how you are designed to interact with them. The mining areas are so boring and the darkness mechanic does not make for interesting gameplay. Trees and shrubs regrow way too quickly so your working area can get overgrown in days, it really doesn't feel you have control of the world. In certain circumstances i also experienced glitches and stuttering. There are probably more i can complain about if i think about it more but i think i got my point across.
